Title: Your opinion.
Post by: SF1900 on February 22, 2010, 05:52:02 PM
So, I was in the store today and noticed a Flex magazine. I have not purchased one in a while, so I figured what the hell. On my break during school I was flipping through the pages, and one of my female classmate says, "ill, I hope you don't want to look like that. It looks gross." I just shrugged, and kept on flipping through the pages.

Afterward, I thought about what she said, and whether or not it was appropriate for her to say that. I mean, I am not hurt by what she said or anything--in fact, I sort of chuckled to myself. However, I was trying to come to a conclusion on whether or not it was rude for her to say. I know a lot of people think bber's look gross, but is it really necessary to say something like that to someone who is looking at that particular magazine.

Opinions?

Tell her I couldn't look like that if I tried ! and just a passing opinion on her part sounds like she didn't put much thought into it

Funny thing is, she is already really thin. I felt like saying something back, but decided not to. I don't want to create any tension with my classmates. I don't know, I just thought it was sort of rude for her to say.

it was rude of her.  if you want her opinion you'll ask her for it. until then she should keep it to herself

Actually, now that you mention it, I did state that I could never look like that. I didn't go into a discussion about genetics and drugs, etc. I am sure she could careless anyway.

I've gotten that more times than I can count. I've heard one girl in my 6 years of hearing it say that was attractive. Out of about at least 300 different women commenting. It's not rude really, just an observation. Most pro's look ridiculous.

I wish we could all just decide on a whim if being that big was an option lol

lol. Well, since I am only 5'5", the chances of me ever looking like Ronnie is slim-to-none.

Who cares what anyone thinks or says about you. Gotta have a thick skin. Of course some people are freaked out by bulging muscles and veins and striations taken to unnatural levels, it's always been like that. Same thing about people getting freaked out over piercings or tats or anything else, if it's unusual and different people's conservative instincts will kick in.

Well, I don't care what she thinks. If I had the genetics to look like that, and if I decided I wanted to look like that, it would be my choice. I was just contemplating whether or not its rude to be that upfront like that.

Well, yeah, but I am sure someone of average height would have a lot better shot than me, hehe. Granted, I am talking about the very individual.

Well, girls don't like the juice pig look like guys don't dig juice pig females. Although it's masculine, it's too much and looks like something you'd see at a circus.

There is no doubt in my mind that most females prefer the Calvin Klein model look. I don't have a problem with that. I (sort of) have a problem with people making comments where comments aren't welcome, especially rude ones.

Yes it is rude. She though she was worthy of announcing her opinion on a matter she has no business what so ever.

It's another thing to comment on the look in general, but trying to affect a person's behaviour by saying I hope you never try to look like that is wrong in my opinion.

I totally agree. She also told me that eating too much protein is bad for you.

When building the body getting women is ultimately what counts? Thats a sad outlook and philosophy.

Did you ask for her opinion?
No.
It was rude.  Just as rude as it would be if you were looking through a clothing catalog and she made a comment about that.
