Title: Does anyone actually use Waxy maize?
Post by: 240 is Back on February 23, 2010, 11:49:11 AM
And if so, do you use it Pre-, during-, or post-workout, and what does it do?

Not waxy but Vitargo which I get for free. About 50grams in my workout bottle with Xtend. It's a carb and does what carbs do. That's it. I like the texture but wouldn't pay for it.

Taste. :D

I prefer malto over dex too. Dex is too sweet.

Lots of studies show that it burns holes in pockets.  ;D

I used it post workout.  Switched back to a dex/malto blend.  Never saw a difference.

It's the industry's latest way of charging a 2000% markup on sugar.

I've tried it (post), but it's a total sucker play.  It can't touch a banana.

Waxy maze is overpriced crap.  Dextrose works BETTER and is a lot cheaper.

Protein I can kinda understand, but why would anyone pay for a carb supplement?  It's sooo easy to get carbs from solid foods.

Overpriced and EXTREMELY overhyped. Even if you're crazy in the insulin scene the difference is so marginal that it's not even worth it.

It's too starchy and makes a big mess, but it blends well and isn't as sweet as dextrose. I just use a good, bland protein and mix dextrose with it so it's not sickly sweet. Paid for WMS once but never again. I'd only use it if it were free or the same price as dextrose.

Let's go over this again. The only basic supplements you need to build real muscle are test and deca. Maybe some protein powder too, but real food beats protein powder every time.

Waxy maize, creatine, glutamine, all that stuff... not necessary.

Haha.  Another thread where a bunch if tiny tits act like they know the real truth about building muscle.  I've never tried waxy maize, but if all you human coat hangers are bashing it, I might have to give it a shot.

It's best to mix dextrose and maltodextrin about 50/50.  Maltodextrin is just polymerized dextrose molecules but because of this, it digests more slowly.  So with both dextrose and maltodextrin, you get a more-sustained release.
