Hey had to copy off of Nike's Air Rifts?
BTW, Nike's Air Prestos are by far the most comfortable shoes on the planet. And they come in infinite colorways. Just look them up on Ebay...

Please bro these are no comparison to the 5 Fingers. Also these have been around for a lot longer than the Nikes, The only reaso why Nike created the air frees & branched off other versions of those is the Stanford running team. Research them, see what you can learn.

Bare feet is the essence to good back health

These are the epitome of comfortable. If you enjoy waking around the casa barefoot, strolling basically anywhere barefoot then this is the shoe.
My balance has really increased also due to these. I used to only workout in Chucks but not anymore.

Gay.. yeah they look gay but I don't give a fuck if the end result is better health.

I know its about marketing gimmickry, but instead of making them look so goofy, why not just incase them with a "normal" looking outer shoe?  I might try them then.

Funny I had the same thought so I asked.

Guy said in short:
It is the nessary function that the toes need to create a spread footprint *see pic*
The reason that this needs to be is for balance and calf/leg muscle support/development.

Having a shoe that is "encapsulated" won't ever achieve that result.

Does that help Show?

Nike came out with the first version of the Air Rifts in the mid 90's. I was working at Footlocker during the summer in college and saw my first pair. They were lace ups. A guy came in with them. You had to buy special socks for them, as they were split toe, like Ostriches or mimicking the Kenyan barefoot runners. I believe Nike was the first to mass produce such a design in Running shoes, the Huraches were the forebearers, they were experiments in minimalism. Then came the Air Prestos and the Second gen Air Rifts (I own three pairs of the 2nd gen, one pair of the Air Prestos), then the Nike Free 5.0's, which were trying to mimick the natural movement of the foot, and were minimalistic in design (I have a pair, and they
are not durable).

In terms of comfort, the Prestos were the most, followed by the Frees, the Air Rifts the least, because you have to get used to your big toe being seperated from the foot, and it's worse with their special socks. The first gen shoes are very hard to find, almost non-esixtant. I've owned alot of their experimental shoes. Huraches, Frees, Pumps, Zoom Air, Tuned Air, Shox, Combos of technology (Shox and Air, etc). Some are gimmicks, but most are functional technology that Nike spends millions, if not billions into research.

Their research in Carbonfiber was the reason why they were the first to put Carbonfiber in Jordans.
They spent considerable money bending and breaking pieces, trying to use them as springs. As you probably know Catbonfibet is mostly used for race cars and high end exotics. It's lighter and stronger than steel and is used for lightweight applications. But it is expensive to produce. More so back when Nike was experimenting with it. Each piece must be made in a autoclave, heating the carbon weaves in a a resin, then letting it cool and set in place.

So, you can imagine the money that Nike was throwing into research of this material---no gimmickry with that.

Yep, they did their research due to the Stanford running team @ the time was running without shoes even though Nike was supplying them for free, all they needed.
the ones I saw were not lace up, but straps. Anyway it seems to me we are on the same page as the importance of a shoe that mimics our foot as close as possible.
Doing a little more research on the subject looks to be that it was Nike that parented the idea that barefoot running is essential for a strong base,
Vibram looked to improve on that idea.

God I remember the Air huaraches & were such a sweet shoe for the era. Lightest shoe @ the time I think.

I used to pick up SOLE magazine to see the latest tech and colorways of shoes, I'm a sneakerphile. Right now I looking to give away 2 pair of Nike Shox R4s, Nike Air max, Nike Air Transposites (too small), Two pair of Reeboks-the ones with the airpod chambers, they were re-releashes. Giving them to Goodwill or a homeless shelter. Don't need them, because I hardly wear them.

I've got 2 pairs of Shox, but I went back to a flatter sneak.  This article by Eric Cressey, a guy whose word I respect, got me reconsidering my Shox:  http://ericcressey.com/nike-shox-and-high-heels (http://ericcressey.com/nike-shox-and-high-heels)  Given the knee pain/discomfort I occasionally get from years of heavy (relatively speaking) squatting and other stuff, I wanna do what I can to save whatever cartilage I have not ground down.

If you want the most comfortable casual shoe/Sneaker, I would go with Michael Toschi, specifically with the ones with the Carbon Fiber throughout the shoe.  Sometimes you can find them at around 350 or so but don`t be shocked if you see them for around 600 or 700.

Although I think Prada is pure crap as far as their manufacturing goes, I have had a ton of them, their Monte Carlo series are ok for sneakers, especially if you just want a beater.

Also check out Prada Car Shoe for comfort.  Car Shoe is A LOT better quality than regular crappy Prada Sport.

Show us one photo with any of these shoes on.  You have tons of photos of yourself so this will be easy for you

Is there a difference?

unless its open toe..yes there is a difference...stillettos have a pointy toe (only closed toe shoe I will wear) and anything with a chunky heal is USUALLY a platform or if its closed toe non pointy

Lately, I've been wearing Ahnu style shoes.  They are very comfortable and I can wear them to work, to the beach, or casually as typical weekend wear.  I'm wearing #1 right now, but they come in several styles and from different companies. :)

They can be worn with (work) or without (the beach) sox.

You won't catch me dead in any sort of sandal. Not a shoe a man should wear outside a shower room.

Somebody mentioned Merrells. Comfy ass shoes right there.

I wouldn't go near Vibram Five Fingers, aside from the fact they are fugly, i need proper support from a shoe or else my knees and lower back let me know all about it.

It's a sad day when it suddenly dawns on you that your wardrobe consits entirely of hiking/outdoor pursuits clothing.

"but they're comfy"

Shame, I bet those outdoor
adventure shoes lasts ages
in Yurp and the United States
in America, busting abrasive
shopping mall floors and pigeon
shit on piazzas and kicking the
odd beggar.

Africa is a tough country,
you need tough shoes.

HAVE YOU TRIED NEW BALANCE!!!!! Best running shoes i have ever owned

nope cant say I have. Before I got into running did a lot of research, I dont know many runners, so I asked the few I knew. I ran a full marathon in those aisics, not one blister or anything, and now that running season (outdoors) is upon me, I have to stick to what works
