Everyone brags on how much they can bench, but can anyone bench almost 3 times your body weight???
-
I got a guy I use to train with that has this record and I have spotted him doing 345lbs during a workout raw. This guy was the strongest man I have known pound for pound....
Submaster 33-39 - Bench Press - Men - Alabama
CLASS LIFT NAME DATE
132 336.0 DARRELL TIFFANY 02/26/00

I suck at benching
This guy is only about 5'4" too. Might explain the benching ability, but still the most impressive I have seen for a raw bencher. Plus the guy stays ripped all year long. Crazy genetics I guess.
-
At one point in my life I could, now only about twice my weight.
-
i used to be a very strong bencher....then i partially tore my pec and stopped lifting for two years......i have been back for a few years now, but am still scared to push it...
bench

I suck at benching
i knew a girl that was really good on the piano but she really sucked on the organ ;D

Everyone on get big can bench at least 3 times his body weight.

As long as she keeps trying ;D

That is a very impressive lift but I would not say it is "almost" 3x bodyweight. Fifty pounds is a lot of weight to go.
I've always sucked at bench (long arms =\ ). I never do singles but ExRx.net estimates my max at 1.3x BW :'(
-
Yes very impressive but really 5'4" 132lbs. I like being 6'2".
-
You got to be a god damn hydraulic machine to do 3 * BW.
-
Not ripping him by any means either. I am sure he would like to be taller and would trade benching 3x his bodyweight for it.
-
HELL NO! I suck at bench. A pretty weak exercise for me. Nothing I do really increases it :( >:(

BB is really not about how much you can lift but rather how much you look like you can lift. I look like I can bench 490, twice my weight, but I can't. So I guess I have accomplished the basic criteria for being a BB. Although, obviously, PL'ing is a different story.

x2
If I feel like putting the effort in I'll go for 2 plates, lol.. who cares how much you bench, I haven't benched more then 3 plates in probably 3-4 years, I just go for a good slow pump nowadays

Hey, I was only pointing out a genetic freak of strength and muscle. This guy stays ripped and can throw up some major weight. Hell, I couldn't bench over 300lbs until I got up to about 185lbs in body weight. This guy presses 225lbs for sets of 12. Crazy in my opinion.

Never met anyone who benched three times their bodyweight till I moved to Hawaii. There are 4 guys there who can do it. Doug Oritz is probabkly the most impressive. I think he weighed around 145 and benched like 440, Francis Silva did a 600 at 198, Julian Lee did a 617 at 198. I am probably off a few either way but these guys are unreal. I hit a 500 at 247 and a 585 at 300. I was really trying to hit 600 but I tried it once and missed and never tried again. All in a t-shirt. I did a 505 incline at 300. All drug free except the 585. I did the 505 nearly 10 years after my first last shot of test. I did the 500 in a tank top and OP shorts. Thats what I wore most of the time

Strong back in the day, too bad you let yourself fall to pieces. Age is no excuse.

Haha, what is crazy is the guy has done very well for himself. Never let his height hold him back. A person that made the best of everything God gave him.
