Wanted to see what everyone was doing in terms of pre and post workout for protein and carbs???
-
Preworkout:
Protein and carbs tend to be 50/50 - I usually have an MRP shake and a banana about an hour before training.
Postworkout:
Pretty much the same again, except I have 50g whey isolate shake and 50g of Maltodextrin immediately after training.
About an hour to 90 mins after that I have a meal which consists of mainly protein (red meat) with a bit of potato and broccoli thrown in for good measure.

Depends on the type of training.
If I am training to get big and lean, then I usually eat 1 lb of ground beef ( cooked and fat drained ) when I get home from the gym, no carbs. The only carbs I would get are usually 3/4 cup of oatmeal with cinnimon in the morning.
However if I was training for an athletic event where performance was the priority to looks, then I would try to get plenty of complex carbs during the day ( oatmeal, rice ) as well as plenty of Essential fats ( Olive Oil )

Thanks Guys...
Anyone else want to weigh in on what they do...

i eat every 3-5 hours, and i eat 30-50 grams of protein at each meal. depending on my goals, my carbs and fats vary, though i rarely have fats .

Thanks T for your input but the question was more carb/protein intake before and after workout, not all day long...But like I said thanks for throwing that in...
