LOL The all weekly "BBs without drugs"-thread. Keep em coming. ;D
-
WTF do you expect? Very few Bbers train for the love of training, to build a healthy physique or for functional strenght. They train for a given result that you can't achieve without drugs. Once you take the drugs out of the equation, I don't see much of them training hardcore for ten years in order to add 20lbs of solid natural muscle.

as bob chick says..drugs are only for the finishing touches.

I doubt Ronnie would ever abandoned training all togheter like some of these guys
-
It really is just the final 1-2%. What builds the muscle is adequate nutrition and training. The pros know how to train for growth stimulus and they can rest better. Also, their genetics are superior and they have the dedication most trainers lack.
The drugs are a tiny little element - in fact, there is a growing belief that pros are better off saving the money from buying expensive crap like HGH, Slin, AAS and spending it on stuff that actually makes a difference: protein isolate and creatine.

funny..i thought cell tech was the reason dillett veins came out of his chest.

;D
Congrats on the blue stars.
-
the "without drugs" photos are misleading because the pros were only eating one meal every two months when those pics were taken.

Ronnie and Dorian love to train. And that showed also on stage somehow. On a different level, Labrada seems to be in retty good shape also.
-

While Ronnie does love to train, your comment comes across as funny because Ronnie will often take 3-4 months off of training and/or drugs because he hits it so hard during his "in season."
But here it is over ten years after Dorian's last stage appearance and he's still in the gym.
I think the problem with a lot of these pros is that they never learn to train properly as a natural. They hop onto the gas fairly quickly, respond damn well, and when they come off (for whatever reason) they don't make nearly as good gains as they could had they learned to train right in the first place. But of course they'll still pale in comparison to their former drug addled self.

Agreed. there was a certain Pro who said that once he retired, He won't have anything to do with the Gym anymore. I had no idea whether he was joking or not, but judging by what I'm seeing, it looks like a lot of those guys lose the passion for Training once they hang up those trunks

That was Flex Wheeler who said it - said he only did bodybuilding for the money and that he wouldn't step inside a gym when he was done competing.
There are pros who are still in good shape after they stop competing, esp. the guys from the 70s and 80s. I think it's partly due to the extreme personality - when they compete, they do everything under the sun to look their best, but when they stop, they let it all go to hell, while eating nearly as much as they did before, lol.
Doesn't help that a lot of the guys today rely more on drugs than training to get into shape, which is why they look like crap. Guys who train hard like Ronnie or Sergio Oliva still look great cause they like lifting.

Exactly, I remember now. I hope Ken Wheeler was joking. eventhough he's doing other stuff of his own, coming to these Expos, I would presume these former Bodybuilders would at least maintain a decent physique just for marketing purposes. maybe these guys are so used to being BIG and when it's not longer their Priorities, they no longer give a shit.

Flex never really had the passion when he was training...and that's why he said what he did. You look at him now, and he doesn't really look like he trains more than 3x a week, and when he does, it's like a suit and tie from Wall Street rather than the hardcore workouts he used to do.
The question I have is: why do these guys train and workout like that if they don't like it? Can they really not do anything else in life?!
