Title: My review of the 2010 Australia Pro.
Post by: Matt C on March 15, 2010, 04:33:43 PM

I said that I felt Kai slid a bit during this contest, although it may have just been because Dexter improved or it may have had to do with lighting/colour.  In any case, I will come back and go through this page for HTML errors and perhaps add a little to it later, but I have been working on it for so long now that I just want to put it out there while the contest is still fresh in people's memories.

What is your problem?
Why do you have such a hard on for Tony, and his audience attendance?

Why is it such a problem for the promoter to post a pic of the same venue he posted empty bragging about how great it was why not post a pic of it full of paying customers schmoes or is that evidence for the Tax office full house times $60 = big tax bill.

You will blow in your pants if you keep this up

I dont have a pic of the audience at this stage, would you me to post my tax returns, copy of hotel bills, why are you so bent on this you sad fuck?

You are very predictable yet again, just like  your other personalities; Godfather / Miss Karen / Switznegger / Albert Schmidt  / Clancey / Chopper1234  the list goes on!

Imagine if your balls dropped and you had the courage to use your real name or come and tell me your problems man to man. Forget the consequeces, just imagine you could grow as a person and how good it would be to have some balls. Na just kidding, you got nothing!

Why the hate?I was not the one who posted the pic of that great venue and now not one picture of the crowd. We all wait for that pic.So how many paying people? It's always nice to hear how much a success a show was.

Why all the hate?

You should ask yourself the same question, here are your posts from just today you sick, stalker & obsessive loser. How are the balls? Nearly ready to drop or just explode.

"Maybe the Customs took all of his drugs like they did with Benfatto and others."

"Why is it such a problem for the promoter to post a pic of the same venue he posted empty bragging about how great it was why not post a pic of it full of paying customers schmoes or is that evidence for the Tax office full house times $60 = big tax bill."

"Don't know him but every year he comes on here telling all how he pays for everything for the Pros and now some here say he doesn't, Dan hill got nothing and the venue looks great empty maybe it was like that pic on the day as well. Why no pics of the crowd.Just asking."

"Post a pic of the crowd in that great venue. Was it packed to the roof with muscle loving schmoes all paying over $60 and making the promoter a bomb.Shhhh "not too loud the TAX office may be reading."

"Not at all but why would a promoter post a pic of an empty venue and brag how great it is then when it's full of paying happy schmoes NOT ONE PICTURE.just saying."

"The promoter brags about how well all pros are cared for are telling me it is not true?"

"Well tell us all how he got his Pro card and why he reps australia and the friendship with him and the promoter. We await your words."

"You got that right but he tells people he pays for all pros.I guess that's how he adds costs to his loses for the Tax Dept."

"Do you work for the australian tax department?"

"Quote for truth. The only reason this guy reps australia is the greeks would not give him his pro card so he got a gift in australia and now reps australia at contests.Seems about right I think it was the promoter who got the pro card for him now that's not how Chick got his pro card 12 long hard years for old chick."

"Why not one comment on the crowd size most promoters brag about full house and packed standing room only why post pics of the massive auditorium and say how wonderful it is and then not show a pic of it full of muscle woreship slurping fans."

"Was that massive auditorium full? It's only $60 entry so 2000 paying people well lets just say it's a nice cash day."

I hate to say it but there is not a lot of money in bodybuilding.  It simply doesn't ever attract the huge audiences of other industries and this includes the Olympia and Arnold.  Tony goes out of his way to put on a pro show for the fans and competitors and does so at great personal expense.  I don't understand the need to be critical.  It's not like a slow bodybuilding contest is unique to Tony or anything - that's just the nature of the industry.

It's not like a pic of the full auditorium is going to hurt now is it?Let me tell you something he made a whole lot more than the winner did.FACT.

It seems to attract more than it's share of retards, though. Take Little John, for example.

The show cost AU$120000+ to put on.
It takes 3 months of my life, I dont see my wife and kids for the last month because I work from 6AM to 10PM every day, the last week is 5AM till Midnight. That is withoout getting an hourly rate or a definite pay day.
I have to put this all up front to make it work. Do the maths or run a show yourself if it is so easy and so profitable.
If it does fail, the buck stops with me. Some years I have done my nuts.

Even if this is the case, why is that a bad thing?  ???  If Tony is willing to risk his private capital to put on a bodybuilding contest, why wouldn't he deserve to make money from it?  That is the great thing about freedom - you can put on a bodybuilding contest exactly as Tony did and if you are successful at it you will reap the rewards for doing so.  Your post reeks of jealousy.

You remind me of another "personality" on this board that got sent to TimeOut quite some time ago. This "personality" also had a hard on for Messiah and posted in the exact same manner that you do.

Interesting.

Excellent review!

Congrats to Tony for pulling it off, yet again.  My friend flew down from Brisbane just for the show and said it was awesome.  It seems having a 24-hour gym within walking distance of the event hotel was a nice selling point.   :D

While I will agree with you guys that there are some jackass promoters in the IFBB, Tony isn't one of them.  When you compare their earning potential to that of a promoter in the U.S., the Aussies don't exactly get any discounts when taking a risk to put on a pro show.  I don't know whether Tony profited from his show (if he wants to volunteer that info, it's up to him, I'm not going to ask), but I do know that he did a kick-ass job in doing the show, which meant having to give up time with his family.

How many GetBig readers would be willing to give up their time AND put their own financial well-being at risk just to give the athletes and fans a show?
