House/Senate agree, Obama approves, and it goes into law.
Will it happen? Yes or no? Get on the record with your prediction now!
(This is not a thread about whether or not it is a good bill. Rather, if it'll pass or not).

HONESTLY 240 - idk AT THIS POINT. tHEY LOST 5 VOTES TODAY.
-
It does...

You think if this thing dies Obama is toast in 2012?

He's already toast and I'm being dead serious without being the least bit sarcastic.

Not a fair poll. Will it pass, yes. Will it become law, very doubtful because of the corruption and blatantly disregarding the Constitution and since about 38 states will file a lawsuit, Obama and his treasonous cronies will be screwed and I truly mean treasonous!

fixed
-
Unfortunately, yes.
-
I think it will pass but I think it will cost many democrats their seat in Novemenber congressional elections. 35% of people like this bill 52-55% don't. People want reform but most don't like this bill or the process used to ram it through. This is not the kind of government we wanted elected.
-
I hope the reconciliation piece does not pass. The news organizations all had a piece today on the new taxes and penalties that will go into place (see other thread).
If there is a decent opponent, Obama will not be elected again. He is loosing most independents and moderates, which are the key to most elections.
-
subscribe for results later today.....
-
It will pass and then a few months from now when people realize the sky isn't falling the Repubs will lose that last tiny speck of credibility they had left.
Of course the TBaggers, as always, will be immune to reality and continue pretending that the world is coming to an end.
I do hope when it passes that Glen Beck spends the entire hour of his next show crying in front his chalkboard

I think it's lose, lose. If it passes, the people will revolt because it will be a partisan vote that is contrary to what the majority of the country wants. If it fails, the people will still be angry and will say he can't get anything done. I've said this in another thread, but absent some kind of attack, calamity, etc., he looks like one and done.

Tell us more about this REVOLT you imagine will happen?
-
it will probably pass
capitalism lost today and govt funding panhandling faggotry won
next on the ajends : should smart students be required to hand 10% points to the dumbfucks so they can also pass.
-

He is toast unless he pulls a Bill Clinton (which he wont)

Agreed. It will most likely pass but it will be very hard for it to withstand the court if and when they rule on it. The bill is a violation of the constitution on so many levels. The fed gov job is to protect the rights of the states, not to enforce new "Rights" on them...I use the term "Rights" very loosely.
-
Insurance reform is here to stay! :D :D :D
-
panhandling is here to stay! :D :D :D
fixed....beggars rejoice!
-
If the reform does not pass I will not vote democrat for many, many years. Even if the Republic is in danger because of some republican asshole gone awry. And you can extend that to any democrats to the left of BHO.
I can smell crap from far away, and I am not bittin' the bullet Fako!
-
It will pass and continuously amended.

let's wait until it happens and then you can connect the dots for all of us
I'd be more interested in seeing what healthcare stocks to tomorrow.

Due to all those docs that are quitting their jobs today? Like you claim?

I posted the study from the NE journal of Medicine. Are you claiming they are not reputable?
-

YOU are not reputable. This is a perfect example. Since when did the NE Journal of Medicine make ECONOMIC predictions? YOU claimed that docs were planning to quit their jobs if this passed. YOU made these dramatic hysterical postings over and over and over. ::)
Just like the "secret double handshake backwards password" thingy where all the corporations made an agreement to not hire anyone while Obama was Prez. ::)
Again, the simple question of what these docs would do once they quit their jobs remains unanswered and completely avoided by you. Why is that? Why avoid a simple question? Would they work at Autonation? Walmart? Yeah, those places will pay for their kids private school tuition and their country club memberships. ::)

More garbage from you. Yes or no - the NE Journal of Medicine is reputable as a source?
-
I don't think it's about whether the NE Journal of Medicine is reputable or not.
Realistically, it's simple. Doctor's don't have another skill. They are Doctor's.
You do what you do... It's like Auto Mechanics all quitting because car prices or gasoline prices go sky high... It's not going to happen (because it didn't and won't ever) because those guys who fix cars do exactly that... They fix cars.
I hate to be the one to mention this... but why is "socialism" when it comes to certain things so bad? The Defense budget is socialist. The transportation budget is socialist... Damn near everything in the federal government is "socialist".
Don't start me on the Nazi or Communist statements... Neither Hitler nor Stalin was trying to help people without health insurance and help them live better lives.
Just moronic statements to make.
Whether or not you like the idea that your tax money is going to healthcare is one thing, but I'd rather it go to Healthcare than to some country in the middle of the desert to be honest.
-

Here is why - the cost to become a doctor is very high and no one is going to go to medical school an incur such and expense if there is no reward at the end of the path.
Also, this will ensure that the best and brightest dont go into medicine but finance, law, etc.
-
I don't know if that's true... People don't just pick a career because of cost or because of how much money they make.
People do what they want. Is money important sure... but it's not the end all be all.
Most people use their interests and aptitude to pick a career, not just a dollar sign.
There is just no correlation really... It's all FUD (Fear Uncertainty and Doubt) and has no real base in reality.
Hospitals believe this will help have less people in the hospital now because they'll have easier access to basic medical providers. That's a good thing right?
-
More garbage from you. Yes or no - the NE Journal of Medicine is reputable as a source?
Whether they are or are not, or my - or anyone else's - opinion of them are irrelevant to my prior post.
I am SPECIFICALLY calling you out on your drama queen hysterics and typical bullshit claims.
You post up bullshit like that and then when cornered with it, you attempt to deflect and escape by changing the subject all over again.
-

A complete contradiction to your last claim.
You are now attempting to equate and rationalize people not going through school as actual doctors who are quitting their jobs since this bill passed.
FAIL!

No asshole - I made a claim based on what was reported in the NE journal of Medicine. lets talk about my claim which i backed up and your bogus accusation of me.
-

My accusation was bogus? I plainly called out your fear mongering rhetoric of doctors walking out and quitting their jobs today now that the bill passed. Where is the news for that? Do we have to decode the NE Journal of Medicine to find it?
Spin spin spin.... as much as you want. But you can't change the fact my posts are directly targeting your typical daily posting spree content.
So, where are the quitting doctors?

That's it?
You don't believe your own bullshit do you? You simply keep repeating it because you found yourself in a little hole and can't get out. So you keep digging.
If you say it enough times it becomes true? Is that how this works?
So where are these quitter docs going to work? Go back to school and become art students perhaps? Bag groceries at Publix?
You just got shit on and instead of trying to clean yourself up, you instead roll around in it while claiming "it don't stink mom, it really don't"

Poll: 46 percent of general practitioners feel Obamacare will force them out or make them want to leave medicine
By: Mark Hemingway

So this isn't exactly a ringing endorsement from the nation's doctors:
46.3% of primary care physicians (family medicine and internal medicine) feel that the passing of health reform will either force them out of medicine or make them want to leave medicine.
Other key findings from the New England Journal of Medicine* poll:
62.7% of physicians feel that health reform is needed but should be implemented in a more targeted, gradual way, as opposed to the sweeping overhaul that is in legislation.
41% of physicians feel that income and practice revenue will “decline or worsen dramatically” with a public option.
30% feel income will “decline or worsen somewhat” with a public option.
(h/t Hot Air)
*UPDATE: NEJM of medicine contacts me to say that the poll was not done by them but "the Medicus Firm, a national physician search firm based in Dallas and Atlanta."

Not really sure... It's just on in the background... I don't really pay attention to what show and sometimes even what channel.
I just listen. That way I feel I'm being unbiased and can just listen to whatever the topic is about without having a preconceived notion.

That's even more sad... I'm actually listening to something on right now... hence why I said it's in the background.
Sad that those women are that stupid and sad you think that those clips have a point in this conversation.

Why is that? Doesnt it show the mentality of the typical Obama voter and who obama is crafting his message to? People who think they are going to get something for nothing.
I'm not saying it applies to everyone, but a very large demographic of people.
-
I don't think it does when it comes to healthcare at all.
I have a great friend who I've known for years who is working on her M.D. (Just got accepted to med school in Miami.) who is one of the biggest healthcare reform people I know.
She's actually upset that it's not more comprehensive and more encompassing.
So she actually is
1. not like your little poster children there.
and
2. Going to become a doctor even WITH healthcare reform.
So she pretty much craps all over your entire philosophy today.

I would take Shoot's & Kajes' opinion over someone who has not even practices yet.

I shoot my own personal experience over someone's opinion piece.
Yes.

We can if you want... I might not even respond.
I look at this like the OJ verdict.
Winner's too happy... losers too sad.

Fair enough. Does obama end up in jail a few years from now like OJ did? :o :o :o
-
20 years from now? Who knows... he very well might.
I don't put anything past anyone.
