If you're under 90% wouldn't it be like training on high altitude, and consequently red blood cell count should skyrocket to compensate?

So if you can get it to return to normal, monster cardio capability will ensue!

Yep, I had it for a short period of time several years ago. I had it for about 45 minutes from flying at too high of an altitude inan unpressurized aircraft. My vission blurred and I had decreased motor functions. Do you have a long term health probleminvolving hypoxia? Is it due to your excessive weight?

I have pnuemonia.  It  was 84% so they checked me in and did all kinds of tests.  I checked a few days later with it 92%  But as long as I have the pnuemonia it won't get much better.  I am so out of breath.

I'm assuming that you are getting treated with the proper antibiotics along with around the clock O2 via nasal cannula??

An O2 sat of 84% is alarming.

Most COPD patients that walk in the hospital live between 90%-93% Saturation, but whenever a patient dives down to 85% or lower, that is alarming.

Good Luck Keith,

elevated sats via O2 for COPD patients isnt a good thing.  COPD pts tend to retain CO2, and relay on hypoxia (SPO2 < 85%)  to induce breathing.  O2 reduces respiratory stimulation which could cause cardic arrest.  88-90%?
