Title: The T-Rex Arm Phenomenon
Post by: Parker on March 23, 2010, 06:37:11 PM
Over the past 2 yrs I have notice the growing phenomenon of T-Rex arms. Those who have T-Rex arms, generally look like they have small arms in proportion to their bodies. This is generally shown in the FDB pose. Such notables are, Mark Dugale, JOJ, and Branch Warren and that Greek guy Michael K. This is not a new phenomenon, as Rich Gaspari had them, one could even say Shawn Ray exhibit a slight version of this (or that his arms just needed to be bigger). In JOJs case, his chest outsizes his arms, thus making them look smaller, not shorter.

Has anybody noticed this? And what can be done to stop this trend from growing and becoming as insidious as Palumboism. Chick your comments are welcome, whether or not you elude answering the question.

Just the normal proportion of arms to torso...

Some/most bodybuilders have an arm sickness and decide to get a little valvolino on them and love the SEOs and site injects  ;D

Hope this helps

Well if you look at Rich Gaspari for instance, his neck was bigger by far than his arms. Dugale's and Branch's arms look short. I guess you could say they lack proportion, or have shorter arms, and longer torsos.

Atrophy in the limbs is for sure a sign of Aids...I remember reading that somewhere...The Docs also put these sick people on hormones...Bottom line is I would be very wary of touching any male/female who is in this industry...Esp/if they have any sort of Palumboism...The creep factor is at an all time high in the bodybuilding industry...In a lot of cases the TREX look is most likely full blown aids...Either way stay the fuck away from these fools...Also, huge bellies has to be some sort of Queer disease. Doesn't it?

T rex arms happen when a guy who is shorter then 5'6 becomes a mass monster. It just looks ridiculous. Sometimes there is such a thing as too much.

I'm 5'9 and I have t-rex arms...Even when I was 180lbs they looked short, just not as short.  You can imagine how it looks being a fatass 250lbs.

Ah yes, "Big" Dan Hill, T-Rexxed all the way. Wiggs, I don't think you are that extreme. Once you diet down, and have the muscle showing you might be surprised.

Well, there is a theory that some guys are "torso" guys (big backs and chests) and other guys are "limb" guys (big arms and legs). I think dat it's a valid theory 8)

And then there are those who are arm and torso guys...like Arnold, Robbie and one could say Haney.

True dat! But the thing is dat most "experts" on da juice state dat it effects da arms and delts much more than da back and pecs, coz supposedly there is more receptor sites in da arms and delts :-\

But, a lot of dudes in the 70s had big arms and chest---pretty much what they trained the most.
I think it's also what you train and how you train it. For instance Led Priest, doesn't have T-Rex arms, but he has a very, very weak chest compared to his arms and delts. I think his tris take over when he does chest work, so it ends up being a triceps exercise, with the chest being worked.

Some of these guys couldn't buya pair of arms, there is no helping them.

Dont know what to make of it. Too much reliance on drugs, who knows?

Btw, the other black dude with the large chest, who is facing Bill Pearl is Dave Johns, I believe he was a AAU Mr. America.
