Title: Today I deadlifted 375lbs for 6 reps for the first time in my life...
Post by: Deicide on March 24, 2010, 08:57:31 PM
I am pleased with this. I am not necessarily planning on it but with any luck I might get to 400 by the end of the year. Never thought I would get to even 375. I guess, consistency and determination is key. Greetings to the cool folk here.

No reason. I am not really back. Though there have been some requests that I 'return'. It likely won't happen.

Thanks. Much less impressive (because my bench has always lagged and sucked relative to my other lifts) I benched 215 for 6 for the first time today as well, in any event improvements over the past.

With some tweaks in technique I bet you could get 405 next workout. Congrats.

Are you doing HST or a traditional bodypart split?

Also, did you complete your masters that you were going for in the UK?

Haha. HST of course. 5 rep hard week. But I wanted to see if I could get an extra one. I have always made some progress when I do HST so I return back to it. Yes, finished my MA. Thanks for asking.

One area of little progress I fear. At least I am stronger than I ever was before; never thought at this age I would be.

great to hear that, congrats! It seemed very quick, was it on fast track? Seemed like it only took a year. Either way, it's still a good accomplishment... although I'm aware of the job situation as you mention in your youtube update vid.

Yes, working part time now as a German teacher but nothing full time right now. I try to look on the bright side. I love my gym and enjoy working out these days more than ever so it's all good.

It was quick. Just a year ago I struggled with 320 sometimes for 3 reps...don't know what happened. Maybe I have been eating and training more consistently than before or maybe I love my gym; I feel motivated when I am there.

You don't sound like you're far away from doing 405 for a single or double. Keep at it.

Yeah well, the economy sucks and pretty much a lot else does too but there is no point in dwelling on it.

I'll admit it...when it comes to dieting I am a lazy ass...maybe I make it 6 weeks and then...the hunger feeling kills me...Wavelength or no, a diet makes you hungry...if anyone has some brilliant idea on how to get rid of the hunger pangs I actually think I could follow through for once in my life...

Hell yes, I let one out while pushing through my gut really hard doing a deadlift single this one time--- I was 1000% sure I had shit myself but thank god nothing happened... just remember not to eat beans for lunch before a deadlift workout.

I was insanely nervous today at the rack.

I guess I just prefer several reps because I am not into powerlifting...I always try to train between 5 and 15 reps, depending on the system I am using.
