Tried and true, but some people get bloating and other "issues" with it, so a buffered version works for them.

I agree Id try monohydrate first but make sure to drink a good amount of water if you dont like that try another form. Ive never seen the results I get from monohydrate from other forms but you take the good with the bad b/c I do hold a little extra water with monohydrate and it can mess up my stomach.

It's this one:  http://www.gnc.com/product/index.jsp?productId=3480831&CAWELAID=326907638

I only take two pills a day.  I couldn't take ten a day if someone paid me.  They're huge horse tablets.

After trying monohydrate, micronized, micronized with arginine, ALA, dextrose, etc., I finally self-diagnosed myself as a non-responder.

I think they've come out with a few new formulas since that time, but I'm done investing time & money on the stuff.

Most people get those often-reported great gains on creatine the first time they load with it. Back in '96, I loaded with Phosphagen HP. Two weeks and 12 lbs later, I was hooked.

But, I've yet to replicate those kind of results with any creatine product since then. The closest was 5 lbs in a week, using CELL-TECH.

I think the phoshpagen hp they have now is a different formula than the original as is the cell tech.

When MuscleTech changed its CELL-TECH formula in 2005 (using the grey jugs), the old CELL-TECH in the white and blue jugs were marked down to as low as $16. AHHHHH, THE GOOD OLD DAYS!!!

the old cell tech was the shiznit imo loved that stuff even though it felt like it was burning your throat going down and i never was able to find a way to make it so that it wasnt grainy as crap.

The only kind that burned my throat was the Orange flavored one, which I didn't like anyway. Ironically enough, the ones I found marked down that low were often Orange (though the last one I bought at $16 was Grape).

Creatine Monohydrate is the most researched form on the market.

I remember the first Creatine product i ever used was the Phosphagen HP, back around the mid 90's as well. Cell-Tech actually worked great for myself and everyone else i knew that took it, the problem is just the price.

The best bang for the buck is buy a jug of Prolab (Creapure) Creatine Mono for like $20 and mix 5g's with grape/apple juice twice a day, that will last at least a year easy for around $20.

I've never met a non-responder, but i know people who get really sick from using creatine.

I had similar experiences.

I think it's best to take creatine on a full stomach, i.e. after meals. I don't think the "with a sugary beverage" is enough. If you're not retaining water, it's not being absorbed IMO.
