Mods deleted the thread with the comparsion between 360 n PS3. i guess someone said PC3 was better. so...how does the PC compare? i'm asking cause i havent played a console since i got a hand-me-down intellivision as a kid...so i'm seriously out-of-date on the subject. thanks.

A high end computer Always beats a console of everything besides fighting games aka tekken and shit like that.
-
PC3 > WII360
Who cares - I'm thrusting mightily through Doom 1 and 2 - all on my overclocked P60.
-
PS3 is great fun, Wii as well.
i never play on a pc.
-
been playing that battlefield bad company 2 on PC, pretty fun.
-
Consoles can't really compare to a PC.
-
A top spec pc shits all over the consoles. It's like comparing a garden shed with a mansion. It's why I always laugh when fanboys wage war for their hero-console..
-
I don't see how people can even play first person shooters with a controller
-
pfs games i use computer for fighting/car games/sport games I use the console.
(nerd)
-
By far the best fps ever.

i'm lost on this. what are the best games? i guess it cant be sports title because of ea sports. that's the category which would interest me. i think sims second but i guess they arent for consoles. anyway...good stuff if i understood what gaming lingo was.

fps = First Person Shooter......
" counter srike " being one of the best fps games on PC ever .......
its old but its still great and realistic.... or it was trying to be in it's day.

Depends on the genre.
Better on PC: Ego Shooter, Strategy games.
Better on console: Jump and Run, Sports games (Fifa, Tony Hawk, stuff like that), most 3rd person stuff.
-
A top spec PC beats any console hands down - it's just a shame that there isn't as big a choice of games - consoles get everything you can get on a PC and then some.

Actually pc gets more games than all 3 consoles combined.

I still love this q3 mod. It's updated every year or so with graphical modifications and gameplay additions.

Love the original Unreal Tournament. Not a fan of the later incarnations as much.
Playing Dragon Age these days. Well, I would if I had any free time. :P

HELL YEAH, Dragon Age, best fucking game ever!

PC is "stronger" in terms of performance and hardware capabilities but the consoles have come a long way. I am quite happy with my PS3 and would choose it again over a 360.
As far as FPS I gotta vote for Half-Life 2.....now that you can pick it up for 360/PS3 in the "Orange Box" package for $30 it is a must own for console owners.
-
PC is by far better for most games imo, but as a father of 3 with other hobbies as well, its not easy to drop $1500+ (+ new vid card every year) every 2-3 years for a pc that can run the latest games vs a $350 console that will last 5 years and play the games perfectly well.
-
it depends on the dynamics of the game...fps are best on PC and games like Street Fighter, God of war and even FF are better on consoles...i know, you can by a joystick to use on your pc, but there is not every good game from console to the pc...
but the best difference is: the industry of games on the PCs make games that make your machine go old too fast...you have always to buy a more faster processor, more memory, more hd, more video cards....At least on the consoles, the try to take the best the machine has to offer... The games on a console life end a lot BETTER than the graphics when the console its still new...
I always played on PC but since i got my playstation my PC its just a gigantic mp3 player
-
great info...thanks. based on responses i'm assuming sports titles are a no no.

Do you gaming warriors plug in some kind of controller to your pc, or use the keyboard?
-
Consoles are designed specifically to play games, PC's aren't but obviously they can be set up to be.
Ease of use: Console wins everytime, virtually plug and play. No making sure you've got the right graphics card, sound card, configuration etc that you have with a pc.
Cost: Consoles come in at a far lower price than for the machine itself, but games tend to be costlier. I don't know if it would balance out over time, although with the speed at which pc technology moves i guess you wouldn't get the time to find out.
Some PC gamers will always look down there noses and claim consoles are for kids and some console owners will always look down their noses and claim PCs are for geeks.
All i know is i like men with muscle. (no homo)

i prefer consoles but i hate how i have to install certain ps3 games, like you always had to do with pc games
if a game like uncharted doesn't need to be installed, why does any other game?
