Remember him? He was struck down by Luekemia, and his beautiful wife left him? He was another Weider "Pretty Boy", I remember he was trying a comeback a few yrs ago, and looked a mess.

He currently works as a trainer/salesperson at a gym in So cal. Very nice and friendly guy to talk to with a great attitude considering all the crap he's been through.

Yes, Un~Sung it did? My original post took too long and I had to do it over again. I originally stated that with the Mike thread I posted about Dennis Newman...but Dennis Newman and Don Long have something in common. Once they got sick, their hot wives left.

The Leukemia ended his potentially great bodybuilding career before it even started and he was never the same again.
I remember him making a comment about Nasser abusing drugs (in FLEX magazine) and lo and behold, Nasser had one helluva meltdown a couple of issues later, on par with his meltdowns in BB.com ;D
now did any of his health probs. have anything to do with BB drugs?
I read that the doctors told him that his using GH for bodybuilding "may have" contributed to the growth of the cancer. He had to go on Chemo and off his stack, which just wiped out his muscularity overnight.
I still remember being shocked on seeing his before after pics in Muscle & Fitness - first time I realized what kind of difference juice makes.

Seriously, dude had it all...which is quite telling about the bodybuildig scene. Dennis, Mike, Don, Flex all had issues and many were basically genetically superior to the rest of the field, in terms of looks, aesthestics...yet the dice didn't roll their way.

Nasser had a point, Shawn Ray used to say the same things, that the big guys were only bigger cause of drugs. It's just ignorant.
Nasser started out as mid sizer with a big bone structure...and then he got bigger, but never had a detailed back. Which shows he concentrated on size.
Shawn could have been bigger, he had to keep his legs in check, Shawn could have been a easy 235 at his height, but he kept it in check.

Funny though, Dorian's reply to that included 'Everyone's saying i have torn my tricep this year. Didn't hurt a bit'. 2 months later he tore it :P

a few years ago, there was an interview with him in musclemag or ND.
he stated he started using steroids,gh, etc. when he turned 19.

After Nasser's 1997 Meltdown, several Pros commented on it. Nasser had siad he was tied of being a nice guy, etc...Flex, Shawn, Dorian, etc all tore him a new asshole. Nasser's meltdown was induced by losing the 97 Arnold to a way lighter, but better Flex. He stated that Flex look like he weighed 214, etc.

Neumann took a beating in Flex mag. Nasser was/is a much bigger name than Neuman, and they had a whole page of Nasser quotes dissing him. Neumann made an uncalled for comment out of nowhere sparked by his jealousy of Nasser, something to the effect that he doesn't take the same drugs that Nasser takes, again out of nowhere. Nasser got him back in good in Flex Hard Times, even made a crack about him having to prove something to his ex-wife. And not just Nasser, lots of pros thought Dennis was a dick, especially after he pulled that stunt where he start posing in the crowd putting the Olympia at a standstill while all top pros were waiting onstage for him to finish.

Never said they trained for a show together, but Wheeler did praise Nasser in a Flex article shortly after the 97 Arnold. At the 97 Olympia he told Nasser personally that he deserves to win. Even recently Wheeler posted on his forum that Nasser deserved to win the 97 Olympia. In Nasser's video he's chatting it up with Flex at an expo too. in other words there was not any real tension betwee the two despite the "meltdown" as you call it.
