Title: Anyone here work 2nd shift?
Post by: RamJam on April 03, 2010, 12:24:12 PM

I started a new position at my company working second shift...feel like all I have time to do is go to work and train. I have lost 15 lbs in a month. No adjustments to the diet, honestly I have probably been eating worse cuz of the hours, I just no longer sit behind a desk. Just curious as to who else here is feeling my pain?

I used to do a 4-12 shift and it was the worst for me.  the only good thing was getting the workout done when it was empty.  bad thing was getting to sleep at 1 am.  usually that shift would keep me up.  Other guys thrived on it and would go right to bed and get up at 6 am.  depends on person.....

I don't have a job, unless you consider being a full time student and research assistant for my school a job. However, I only work 10-15 hours a week  :D

9-5er here. People that work at night get paid more money most of the time because it takes years off your life.

I used to work 9 pm til 4 am every night, at home building websites and posting on getbig.  It was glorious!

Then I would sleep til 11 am or so... hit the gym and lunch, then go swimming.  Girl would get home from work at 4, and I'd hang out til 8 or 9 with her.

I would still do this shift today if I could.

Ehh, it's only temporary for me until we find a permanent replacement for the guy who just quit. I manage the 2nd shift in a warehouse, just basically watch over the guys preparing orders for the drivers in the morning. Usually work 3pm - 2am, then peel myself out of bed, eat and go train. Just hard to adjust to. I actually dont mind the hours b/c nothing is over crowded during the day. Easy to get into the dr, dentist, or shop...whatever you gotta get done. Just feel tired all the time, but maybe that is because I have been working 6 days a week.

I think 9-5 jobs are the worst. Too early to train before work and the gym is too busy right after work unless you sit around at home waiting to work out at 8pm.
