smaller...it ws a singlarity(or so they say) at the beginning..a point infinitely small...

Hahaha yes.
I think "The God Delusion" by Dawkins should be required reading in grammar school.
I think the best quote in that whole book is "Most people are atheists to 7 or 8 gods, I just go one god further." ...or (something to that extent)
-
People are way to arogant to think we are the only galaxy that has life....
-
Space is beyond the realms of human comprehension, you will go crazy trying to understand all that shit. just sit back and say SPACE IS GAY and drink a beer

Speaking of suns, do you think that lil ship that was around it was a remote ship, controlled from a mothership? No living being could stand that proximity to the sun.

that last star they showed?? the red hypergiant....hell we haven't been beyond pluto (well not by much...vovager made it past)...the closest red giant is around 450 light years away...so at the speed of light it'd take 450 years....that ws just an animation or watchmacallit..GCI
as for the temparature...1 even being close to our sun you'd get so much radiation you'd be fried...and 2 if ya get close to a red hypergiant...i doubt you'd ever be able to escape its gravitational pull...
http://www.solstation.com/x-objects/betelgeuse.htm this is your run of the mill reg giant
hyper giants r extremly rare....i'm kid sitting so i cant do a detailed search right bow but do a google for "red hyper giant" and see what ya find...post your findings

note to self....buy it
from what i remember from old discover mags is either
1) find 2 gravity waves (created at the big bang) moving in the opposite direction and loop de loop them
2) find a black hole connected to another black hole thru a worm hole and travel thru without getting smooched by gravity
3) traval at the speed of light or close to it for a while

I haven't read the article yet. But I remember something from PBS a few yrs back, is that you supposedly can only go back so far, like when you were created or something like that. I forgot the whole theory.
The black hole one needs to be tested...seems it's more Stargate theory than anything else.

you can only go back to the time when the time machine ws created...because before that time there ws no time machine to take you further back...kinda like the grandfather paradox (which states...if u go back in time and kill your grandfather...then you wouldn't exist to begin with...so how did you go back to kill him?)
my knowlodge is this stuff is from previous issues of discover...back in the early 90s discover mag ws almost all physics/astronomy related...now its all genetics and biology and environment...yuk..in anycase..they run something on time travel every couple of years...
-
Oh my god I noticed Pollux in there. 8)

Yeah, that's it...the time machine joint...
Take that back about the environment, had I not gone into history you'd be looking at the black Marty Stouffer.
-
nice video... but i am the center of MY universe

lol...i'm just as much for going out and exploring but i'm far from a tree hugger...and i'd rather go out and experience stuff about the environment...not read about it in discover... :-\
