Yeah, I said that in another thread. He had great lines. Dudes like him and Brian Buchanan I would have liked to see go futher in competition.

Always claimed he was natural

really ::) ::)  did he ::) ::)

luckily, because of the amount of time we all spend here peering intently on our favorite oiled up, scantily clad muscle mutants

we are able to differentiate a natural physique from a chemically enhanced one

180lbs at 5'8", that sounds natural. Crazy black genetics.
whether he was or not ,the illusion was good enough to compete with those monsters of his era,so my question is this if he was clean how come some 24 yrs later with all advances in supplements there is no clean or natural bber that looks as good as he did?or could time travel back and compete with that juiced group?tough call imo....

All the pictures here are him by himself, any pictures with his competitors to see how he compared?
I don't think there are any, unless he was compared at the Nationat's. I mean he won his pro card I believe and he was second place at the 1986 Nationals-Middleweight and he won the World Amateur Championships. Highest he got as a pro was 7th at the 1988 NOC and 8th at the 1995 Ironman. At the 1987 Mr. O he got 14th. At the 1990 Arnold 7th

Cool man, your site is actually really good.

Can you confirm that he was 180 @ 5'7-8" ?

Hey thanks Xerxes!!!

The weight is accurate but I do not think he was as tall as 5'8.  5'6-5'7 would be more accurate I would say.

PS - Ron, I'd give anything for you to unblock links to my site on here.  :'(

considering his size, those are respectable placings esp with that group of bbers.

Savage '80s beat street music.

Very good bodybuilder but basically a very aesthetic midget, even by the standards of the time.

question is, if he lost, whats the chances of ever getting your 100'000 ...?

Exactly, did he have 100k to bet in the 1st place? It was merely a move because most in the biz didn't have 100k to put up for a silly bet in the first place. So he can and say that nobody proved him wrong, so he must be natty. And he was what 5'8?

We'll never know, probably just another user who liked to claim natural to get recognition. Great physique nonetheless.

and, we've had a lot of good natties over the years

This guy is one of the best naturals ever

Quote from: Ron Harris
You also need to remember that Jose is 5-4 - so getting a really thick look wasn't quite as impossible without drugs as it may be for a guy of 5-10 or six foot.

And he has been training since he was seven years old. Really.

Paul is exceptional athlete...I bet - still in shape (even though I haven seen him since I gave him my Rottweiler dog - Harley :'( :'(, hmmm only few years back...like ...1995...

Oh well, time is relative if you ask Einstein...(and not so relative by even greater brain of PROF Stephen Hawking...but who cares about science on this board anyway...).

Someone made comment suggesting that Paul is NOT drug free...and I would be first one to offer a bet that this guy is LIFETIME drug free athlete - for sure.

He would not take aspirin for God's sake...but he would train twice a day and eat loads of NUTRITIOUS FOODS - not just caloric load full of garbage...

So, anyway...I didn't get my ass chewed-up here for a while - so before I get rusty...I am ready for some loving words of my getbig die-hard fans...Couch, HCG-15, Pinocchio... etc...

about 5'7"

He trained high volume, old fashion way - 5 exercises per body part, pretty much 15, 12, 10, 6-8, 4-6 reps respectively and continuously increasing the weight in each succeeding set...
4-5 exercises per body part

training twice per day

each body part twice per week

No Serge never claimed that...but more importantly - ARE YOU READY TO BET SUBSTANTIAL AMOUNT OF MONEY THAT J.P.G. did take steroids - cause I will bet you tomorrow....

I also don't believe MAJORITY of Naturals are 1% Natural...but JPG certainly was - and I am sure - still is...

I am anywhere between 17% and 81.5 % drug free...

Considering you can't get your drugs for free I prefer calling myself drug free - since 8AM...LAST WEEK or anything like that...

I actually have T-shirts ready to be printed with all kinds of percentages of drug free, free drugs, NOT so natural, so-so natural, 23% naturals...etc...natural ly drugged - not my fault...Interested...? I am making individual shirts - special orders, give me percentage and message ...

It's unreal how much better the guy's looked in the 80's... the mid 90's destroyed bodybuilding
and turned something that was once healthy and fun into a perverted schmoe freak fest complete with gh guts and insulin bellies. All those guys in the 80's had wasp waists! now the 42" mish mash of organs piling out we see now.

I tend to agree with Milos on this.

Maybe he was a true natural. I’ve seen him and it’s not like he was a giant.

Very low bodyfat. Very compact. Insane conditioning.

Didn’t he stop competing because he didn’t want to take the drugs necessary to rise up in the pro ranks?

This is a video from a bodybuilding documentary that used to air from time to time for a few years on The Discovery Channel.

Paul-Jean talks about his natural status and seems to have Bob Goldman convinced.

He's doing very well for himself.  He owns a wicker basket emporium that also has a caricature artist near a removed drinking fountain over in Monkey's eyebrow, Arizona.
He used to sell a stuffed lady bug magnet that he designed (except for the magnet and the lady bug) at a specialty stand in a corner of the wicker basket warehouse.

Best wicker baskets you can buy.  They're pricey as shit, but I've had one for almost 3 years and hardly any strips of wicker are breaking off.  I'm not exactly gentle with my baskets, so 3 years is like 4 years for most people.

What? How on earth are you going to prove he was natural 25 years ago? I want to believe it, but you have NO proof. So stop with the "wanna bet a gazillion dollars" bs.

LOL!!! Well put Milos. You should post more on here... given there's isn't much to post about lately  :-\

Born in Barbados, which is why he was able compete in British contests. Flex Mag did a "Big picture" of him once, interesting info...I think he was in the British Army.

There is something a out him in that pic that makes me think he "could" have been natty...I can't put my figure on it, it's the muscle quality, don't know, I wouldn't be surprised either way.

don't forget Ron Coleman and Yhonnie Shambouger, who was dating Renita Harris at one time.

I was trying to remember that name, Yhonie. And yes, Ron "Alcatraz" Coleman!
