Maia was too scared to throw a punch. Silva left his hands down and stood flat footed, not even moving his head and Maia still would not throw. I dont see why everyone is mad at Silva. Its not his fault the guy he was fighting was too scared to throw a punch.

why Silva doesn't finish the fight then?

The same argument could be made for Silva. Why was Silva afraid to take it to the ground? Why was Silva afraid to engage more with his striking and finish the fight? IMO Maia was smart not to play into Silva's antics. This is what Silva does. At least Maia tried to trade punches. Didn't see Silva even consider taking it to the ground. Who really was the bitch?
IMO I think the biggest issue anyone has with Silva was his showboating then not being able to finish the fight. Silva basically ran around the cage and tried to avoid any kind of contact in the later rounds.

Maia is not a bitch at all-- Silva is.
First off, Maia had no business being in the ring with Anderson. We all know this. Belfort was supposed to fight him. As a replacement with no striking ability, Silva should have won this fight by first round TKO. The fact that he pussyfooted around the ring showboating and making fun of Maia is a testament to what a low life and bitch Anderson is. At least Maia didn't do what Thales Leites did.
And by the way-- Isnt Anderson a BJJ blackbelt? As Weight said, why not get on the ground with Maia!?
No way Andersons behavior is excusable. He conducted himself like an attention starved teenage prom queen.

I had a chance to rewatch rounds 3 & 4 this morning before heading to the office. Silva threw 28 strikes in R3 and 12 in R4. I'll take look at R5 later today. I bet it's around 10. Why did he slow down? Why didn't he finish?

how many did Maia throw? Maia didnt throw anything until Rd 5, and even then it wasnt much. He was playing it way too cautious. He could have charged silva with fists flying, forcing silva to attack back, but he didnt

Silva could have done the same. Why do you think it was Maia's responsibility to be the more aggressive fighter? James Irvin and Forrest Griffin did that and I'm not 100% sure that it was the most effective tactic known to man against Silva.
