why the heck did they have to mention it was near the Canadian border?!? Like it somehow made it 'Canadian'..!? What does it have to do with Canada?

Why not just say, "it happened in Seattle, U.S.A.:  >:(

i dont think that was it, there is tons of land up there in the upper north west, so it gives it a reference point.......
