I'm from Massachusetts and a huge Red Sox fan all of my life.

But trust me, they're going nowhere this year.

Can't hit. Can't play D. Pitching is overrated. They're fucked.

I'm just hoping somone can beat NY. I don't want them winning again. Also, those fucking Rays are starting to annoy me.  >:(

The Yankees are a beast.  When you have Swisher/Granderson/Posada as a combo of 6-7-8 hitters, that's incredibly deep.

And? The Yanks are off to their best start in ages with their FIFTH starter flirting with a no hitter. Meanwhile, Boston is already on the verge of a massive collapse, something they usually save until late July. Boston always starts hot and falls apart. If they're starting slow now then their season is all but done.

if the sox shit the bed this year, it will do them some good by making them get rid of some of the luggage that is holding them back (ie Ortiz)

plus, being a hardcore/non bandwagon Red sox fan, it will make all the bandwagoners "jump ship".  You don't know how annoying the post 2004 season bandwagon fans are

It's still April.  Who gives a fuck about baseball?  There's still 598 games to be played by each team.  Let's discuss this shit in October.

PS  Yanks already took the first series... at Fenway no less ;)...to the wang who said the sox will kick the Yanks asses.

Beckett, their ACE.... is getting hit hard this year, Ortiz looks DONE....they lost their best young power hitter in Bay, play shit defense.....Objectively speaking the Sox don't look good this year.  Yanks look STRONG

The problem is that baseball needs a salary cap of some kind.

It's ridiculous what the Yankees are allowed to do.

Three players (Sabathia, Burnett and Teixeira) and half a billion dollars spent.

How are teams like Kansas City supposed to compete with that? It's a joke.

All the Yankees do is hire mercenaries because they can afford to pay them.

Chicago Cubs have a 150 million dollar payroll and they suck balls

You still have to be able to judge talent and its worth.

Clearly, the Mets and the Cubs are two prime examples that are incapable of this.

For example, the Red Sox overpaid for J.D. Drew.

You can't just throw money at the problem. However, it helps to have the money.
