Mankind will never conquer the universe. It is ridiculously large, expanding indefinitely, and we don't even see celestial objects in real time. We are a bunch of fleas on small ball of rock. The inflated self importance of our daily lives here are quite trivial in comparison to the grand scheme of things, regarding space and time.

We once thought the Earth was in the center of the solar system, the center of it all. It turns out it's the sun, just an ordinary type of star, one of many billions, that is centered in the solar system. We once thought the solar system was in the center of the universe, it turns out it's in a galaxy, one of many, near the spiral ends. The galaxy itself is ordinary, one of many billions.
