My 150 watt Crate amp of 23 years has died. What I want to do is switch to all digital with a simple setup.
I have a USB Fast track that I can plug into my laptop. It has RCA jacks that can go out to studio monitors. I use the software Guitar rig with the fast track and would like to ditch the headphones for something that can replace my amp. I could not use the amp with my Fast Track and Guitar rig which sucked but using the headphones coming off the fast track the sound was great.
What is a good setup that I can use to utilize the Fast Track and Guitar rig to have a really good loud but clear sound like an amp. I see a bunch of Studio monitors out there but on youtube it is all rap techno shit.
I would be willing to spend maybe 500 on a decent setup.

Forget the amp. Just buy some nice powered speakers. Monitors are make for mixing, so the eq is going to be flat. I would look into some gaming powered speakers.

I like KRK Rockit 6 powered moniters, they sound great and are very affordable. $150+ (ea)
Lexicon Omega is a decent preamp/interface for the price, i love their products ($99)

My laptop has an HDMI out port, so I can connect it via HDMI cable to my home theater system (5.1 surround sound with built in blu ray player / LCD TV)

did you check the Vox AC4 amp? rave reviews, i'm getting one for sure, but it's tube, not solid state.
