Lay off and not really focus on it or train it like every other muscle and have it look ridiculous??

We talked about this a little in the disproportionate growth thread

Personally I don't think it looks bad and it all depends on your goals.  My traps are one of the first things people comment on in terms of my physique.  I sometimes back off them because I don't feel I need to get really crazy.  At the same time as long as you are in the game for life, i.e. nothing short of being hit by a mac truck is going to stop you from lifting lifelong, its better to just keep banging away and you can always back off it later.  A question you can ask is if your intensity with this bodypart is higher than other parts and why is that / how can you channel that intensity to other parts.  In the first part of my lifting career I would frequently train biceps until I was making "Arnold face" because I wanted big guns.  If I can bring that intensity to another exercise, i.e. leg press or squat, thats a good thing.
