MoveOn Ad Urges Obama To Stop Future Offshore Drilling (VIDEO)

Posted: 05- 3-10 02:28 PM

Activists opposed to new offshore drilling projects are seeing the Gulf coast oil spill as a call to action, using the crisis to urge President Obama toward a clean energy future. MoveOn.org added its voice with an ad released today titled "The Ban."

The ad features a plea for clean energy with images of the devastation caused by the oil spill and calls on Obama to reinstate the ban on new offshore drilling.

While Obama has put new offshore drilling plans on hold until the cause of the disaster is discovered, he has given no indication that future offshore drilling plans are off the table.

I would drill another hole right next to it tommorow with no problem if there is oil there.

We can fix this mess but cant survive with 8 a gallon gas.

This setup has been confirmed by an outside trusted source.  They are open sourcing the details so anyone can replicate.

What you see is nothing but a modified generator with what looks like a capacitor, three electrolysis cells, bubbler, water, flashback suppressor, coil and that's it....  BOOOOOOOOOOOOM!!!!!!!
This is running off of fucking water only....

'No politician would come out for more offshore drilling right now...'

You would think that.  However, palin brought it up...

As an oil slick in the Gulf of Mexico grows larger by the hour, former Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin continues to stick to "drill, baby, drill."

In a 30-minute speech to a Republican crowd in Kansas City Saturday, the onetime Republican vice presidential nominee dubbed the gulf spill "very tragic" but added: “I want our country to be able to trust the oil industry.”

Writing in the Kansas City Star, reporter Steve Kraske summed up her remarks as, "She said the U.S. must wean itself from foreign oil in order to be truly free."

“We’ve got to tap domestically because energy security will be the key to our prosperity,” Palin remarked.

Palin spoke as BP and military officials sought to get a handle on a leaking oil rig site in the Gulf of Mexico, which is purportedly leaking as many as 5,000 barrels of oil a day. The leak began after an explosion on an offshore rig sent the rig to the bottom of the sea and unsheathed a tube that was supposed to be carrying oil to the surface.

Having a major spill like this in an area like the  Golf Coast is extremely difficult to deal with, as we have seen recently , even though we have ACCESS there, boats, special equipmet etc. Have you ever asked yourself if the same resources would be accessible and available in ANWR???? Think about it for a one second. You're talking about the fuckin middle of nowhere, the impact of a spill in that area would be far more disastrous than the one in the Golf.

AT least 2 in the last 20 years. That's pretty serious. Oil is history, something new needs to be developed and while we still rely on oil for now, we should definitely recognize the fundamental problem and not just take an aspirin for fukin cancer.  ;) I would think republicans want this ....you know to stop our dependency from Iran, and Irak and all those fuckers in the Middle East...don't tell me you're against it.

Yes, but the issue is how to get there.
