More protein manages hunger and reduces caloric intake. Those older folks who ate a more protein rich diet loss 40% less muscle over the years than those who ate less protein.

i always ate 2 grams per pound of bodyweight when i trained. two things i heard most were 'your body can't use all that protien' and ' wholly shit you grow fast!!!'
most of the protien requirement studies circulated were done by the cereal companies. pretty easy to sway results in double blind studies. if the truth were known about how much we require people would start eating eggs and meat for breakfast again and cereal companies would go outta business.

You also have retardulated genetics.
And do you mean 2g/lb of bodyweight, or lean mass?

not sure what you mean by vains but i didn't inject my steroids there.

i tried for two g/lb bodyweight, but lean mass is plenty for most people. it is an all day job trying to consume that much protien.

I have a feeling those two things are related though lolol.

hows things with you?

Apparently a glitch in the matrix.
Pretty sure anyone who even has an iota of knowledge regarding diet could have said this. Just good to see it in published writing to support their "theory" when discussing protein to the people who are "OMG PROTEIN IS BAD FOR YOUR KIDNEYS ZOMG".

"Spellcheck" anyone?
.08 grams per lb. of LBM suits me just fine... or even 1.5 grams per Kg of LBM.
Carbs are also "protein sparing" so... here we go (again)

Did you mean .8? .8 is still a lot more than what most people are getting. Females especially. They tend to be terrified of the stuff (unless straight from the tap from my experience). I don't think carbs being "protein sparing" is being debated here. Personal opinion is that it holds true anyways but I don't think that has much to do with the thread unless you try to argue someone can eat 20g of protein a day as long as they have an intake of at least 500 carbs to spare them. Just slinging numbers.
you were injecting steroids in your veins of course you could eat more protein than the average man
Fixed, but anyways...
From anecdotal experience I have always achieved my best condition and gains consuming anywhere from 1.8g to 2g of protein per pound of body weight (zero shakes, all solids meals). Not lean body mass, body weight. My carb intake was relatively low and fat intake in the moderate range proportionately to my protein intake though. I'm a lifetime natty also. I point this out because of this comment towards Hazbin. Just from personal experience as a scared-to-use natty I wonder how much users could consume in protein each day and benefit. I remember watching Ronnie get something like 90g of protein a meal and thinking....that is more than some people get in a day.

Whoooaaaaa here.....I thought a calorie was a calorie? :o
;D

lmao where is hugeandripped when you need him. It's too bad we won't get "college degree in your face" facts ::)
-
apparently when you have shit genetics it doesnt even matter how much protein, whether i eat 80g a day or 300 it makes no discernable difference to me

A calorie is a calorie!

Leading supplement companies: more protein should be sold!
::)
-
to consume as much vitamin C today you need to eat 6 oranges when you needed 1 in the 60s. Genetic manipulation of food -and meats- to make em easier to preserve and the addition of new synthetic molecules make it less and less rich in nutriments as they were int he past. All foods are concerned. 80% of what we re eating is generic , genetically modified and industrial crap.

A calorie is a calorie!
No shit.....but not all calories are created equal.

No shit.....but not all calories are created equal.
No Shit, macro nutrients are different. Try 2 grams per pound, then try 1.5 grams, 1 gram, etc and find your optimal amount. If you look at how a lot of people eat, you will see that there is a mass of very low protein foods like candy and cake, and very little high protein foods.
Alot of people don't get their RDA's.
The point of this is to find out exactly what you need and not a gram more. Then get the carbs you need, then the fats. Those nutrients can even be obtained by ice cream or candy as part of your diet, but only if you get the required amounts, which differs slightly from person to person.
However, eat all the protein you want without attention to calories, and you will gain body fat.

hows things with you?
Same old. Work, train, fight with Sev and Squad. How about you? What's the dealio with the panic attacks? Maybe we need to get Slacker back on the board. Good times, eh?

I agree with the article. The people eating their bagel with coffee for breakfast every morning are missing out. Some people eat like complete shit.

There's no way in hell anyone needs more then 1.5 grams per Kg (not even LBM) only an idiot would take 2 grams per lb, good luck shitting out your kidneys.
