Name one single productive thing that has come from the Republican party or independent conservatives, tea parties and whatnot, in the face of this disaster.

I can't think of a single one. Sarah Palin is on TV talking about some bullshit how the constitution is based on the bible. Joe Lieberman says "shit happens" and proceeds to spread some bullshit un-constitutional nonsense about suspected terrorists.
The "pundits" care about nothing more than painting this as "Obama's failure". South Eastern red state governments are suddenly crying for the big government to come to the rescue. Then there is the downright hateful bullshit of people like Rush Limbaugh and Ann Coulter who seem to think that the entire ocean tanking would still be less bad than having "communist regulations". Then you have the back peddlers who suddenly think their former stance on "drill baby drill" is no longer marketable, and are busy covering their own sorry asses.

One single thing, Republicans. One single useful contribution? No longer possible is it? Better use this as an opportunity to spread more bullshit.
