Competed at the AZ Invitational on 5/1, and hit a couple of PR's in the gym this past week.
Deadlift 700 lbs (suit/straps/hitch):
Strict Press 235 lbs x 8 (had more):

Standing strict press is definitely a lot different than push pressing! I can actually strict press more with a log than I can with a barbell, but it is a shorter range of motion.

any tips for increasing the poundage for this? mine has been stuck at the same weight for years :(

Work your sticking points like you would on bench. Also, warm up all muscles that help stabilize the weight in this movement. For example, I like to get a good lat pump and even do a little bicep work just because it makes me feel more solid, right before military/push presses.
