allentown ambulance crews complained because the standard 450 lb limit autostretcher failed on numerous ocasions lately due to patients excedding the weight limit. they checked on the 600 lb model only to find that most crews have already switched to the newer 800 lb capacity model.

Years ago my brother was an EMT in south florida.....he was telling me that one time they went on a call and the fatso couldn't be hoisted onto the stretcher for fear of it failing. They spread out a tarp and dragged them out of the house, out to the ambulance and loaded them up.
