tonymctones, buddy, why do you keep on derailing my thread? What does any of this have to do with my thread? Will you please start a new thread and I'll discuss your issue with you there? Thank you! :)
you keep saying that tyson etc...are the two biggest ones and you havent provided proof of that...
at any rate my point is to manual labor specifically construction
do you understand what your implying? going after a company that doesnt have any illegal workers but contracts with a company that does?
are you going to go after the grocery stores that sell tyson products?
-

"Tyson Foods, Inc., founded in 1935 with headquarters in Springdale, Arkansas, is one of the world's largest processors and marketers of chicken, beef and pork, the second-largest food production company in the Fortune 500 and a member of the S&P 500."
http://www.tyson.com/corporate/
"Smithfield Foods, Inc. is the world’s largest pork producer and processor."
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Smithfield_Foods
Google "tyson illegal immigrants", and "smithfield illegal immigrants."
If I owned a construction company in the US, and decided to contract some labor, tell me how I would go about this. Can the law not require me to check on the legitimacy of this contract company? You say illegals are their own contracting company. How do you know this? Why would you know this and not the US company contracting their services?
-
tonymctones? Where you go? ???

I know who tyson and smithfield are those links dont tell me they are the 2 biggest employers of illegals...
you would contact ppl can do that work... ;)
what if the company that uses illegals misrepresents itself? youre going to hold the company that doesnt hire illegals responsible for what a company they do business with does?
I know this b/c ive been an independent contractor before in construction, its not that they dont know its that legally you cant prove that they do know...
so again are you going to go after all the grocery stores that sell tyson products? even though those stores themselves dont use illegal workers?
-
tyson was a badass, no doubt about it

Sorry, but I'm not understanding anything you are saying. Going after grocery stores? What? No, go after Tyson Foods and Smithfield Foods for hiring illegals.
-

sigh....
ok well what do you do when a company doesnt hire illegals but contracts work out to another company that uses illegals?
again alot of construction companies "contract" work out to other "companies"(these are independent contractors that lets say are illegal)...they are not employed by this company hiring them to do this job b/c techinically they are their own company(independent contractor)
what you seem to be advocating is punishing the company that contracts another company that uses illegal workers...
you see if you go after companies that hire illegals they can just make them all independent contractors and skirt the law like many construction companies do RIGHT NOW!!!!!!!!!

Is this "Loco" guy the same person as "Coach." Is Loco the alter ego? Which one is more in love with drug dealing, kidnapping, decapitating, siesta taking ..Illegal Criminals? Does either one care about the future and well being of the United States of America? Or is their only concern that somehow one legal Mexican out of 3 million might have a slight, minor, inconvenience?

I think the objection comes in because under the premises we have all come to love & accept, people feel it is better that 1 illegal go free so as not to slightly or minorly inconvenience the innocent.
I know I'd rather see 1 guilty person go free in order to ensure no innocent person is convicted.
I think the objection is also to the fact that people are attempting to swat at individual bees rather than removing the hives, but I can't speak for loco. he'll have to clarify his position to you himself.

whats the difference in this law and any other jag?
you want to do away with all laws now b/c some innocent person maybe convicted?
again you dont do away with the entire system you try to limit the mistakes

No. Now go back to your video games and let the adults talk.

Funny how I bring up giants known for hiring illegals, and you keep countering by ignoring them and bringing up construction companies, having mentioned not a single one by name. Construction companies in the US have either gone out of business or are idle since 2008, yet you argue they are a bigger problem than the giants I mentioned.
But it's okay. I'll play along, for now. Let's start with this
again alot of construction companies "contract" work out to other "companies"(these are independent contractors that lets say are illegal)...they are not employed by this company hiring them to do this job b/c techinically they are their own company(independent contractor)
Explain to me how you have this inside information that ICE and other law enforcement agencies don't have? Why can't you pass laws that go after these "companies" that you claim hire illegals and they themselves, as a company, are illegals. Why are you instead passing laws to go after individual illegals, not knowing who they are, only to have them come back a week later and go back to work? Yeah, that's really efficient! ::)
Another thing, which you did not answer the first time. If I owned a construction company in the US, how would I go about "contracting" work out of other "companies"(these are independent contractors that lets say are illegal)? Do I pick up the phone book, look them up and call them?
-

Im not ignoring them loco im simply stating that they arent the only problem...LOL so there are no construction companies doing business in the US since 2008?
dude youre the one that says these 2 are the 2 biggest employers of illegals in the country with no facts to back that up...

The same way ppl know how drug dealers are etc...but the cops dont... ::)
again youre not understanding the implications of that law...youre making one company responsible for another companies hiring process....are you going to go after the grocery stores for doing business with tyson b/c tyson has illegals?
WHEN DID I EVER SAY THAT WAS THE ONLY THING I WANTED TO DO??? ive said multiple times that its a problem that needs multiple angles to solve...youre the myopic one only wanting to target one cog in the problem...youve made it quite clear you arent in favor of any legislation targeting illegal immigrants... ::)
ACTUALLY I did answer your question...the main way is through word of mouth I do business with this company I need something done that this comapny cant do but I trust them so ill ask if they know anyone who can do what i need done...
-
Yeah, how about answering my questions on the previous post?
how about waiting a fuking second so I dont have to keep dealing with the bouncing of the screen... ::)

Who said anything about going after grocery stores for selling Tyson or Smithfield foods? I said go after Tyson and Smithfield for hiring illegals.
You asked me how would I deal with companies that hire illegals. I've answered your question. If company A contracts work from company B, and company B hires illegals, then go after company B, not company A.

what if company B is only one person and is an illegal? that is what an independent contractor is, what if they happen to be illegal? you cant go after someone for hiring themselves....
so youre only left with going after companies that do business with company B...which is holding company A responsible for company B's employment actions...
-
The bouncing of the screen? What are you talking about?
when responses are longer than the text box sometimes the screen will bounce b/c it doesnt want to display anything more than what fits in the text box starting at the very top of the response....its annoying as shit

You are inventing scenarios to justify your support for laws that can't be enforced without racial profiling. I guess these companies you speak of are like ghosts, whom many believe exist, but nobody has actually seen one. Unless you are telling me that you yourself contracted work from these companies knowing that they hire illegal immigrants.
so youre only left with going after companies that do business with company B...which is holding company A responsible for company B's employment actions...
So says you, not me. I say go after company B.
You've asked me a question and I've answered you. Now you are going round and round with nonsense.

first off im not inventing shit its the way if fuking is...this shit happens everyday...I was an independent contractor not the hiring company...
LMAO going after company B is targeting illegals... ;)
-
further more how would you target company B?
-
further more how would you target company B?
Company B doesn't exist. You invented it.
-
Company B doesn't exist. You invented it.
hahahah yes yes thats why every friday you see a line of ppl in work clothes waiting to cash checks...LMAO
where do all these illegals work loco? tyson and smithfield LMAO ignorance is bliss I guess
again like Ive said all along ppl who think going after companies that hire illegals or locking down the border will solve this situation dont know the ins and outs of the problem and you loco are a prime example...

Where do all these illegals work? You are kidding, right? Yes, Tyson, Smithfields, in the kitchen of lots and lots of restaurants(Italian, Mexican, Chinese, American, you name it.), lawn care companies, warehouses, janitorial companies, farms, shall I go on?
-
http://www.chron.com/disp/story.mpl/metropolitan/casey/5909408.html
just for you loco....
Legal scam by employers
But many illegal immigrants are "independent contractors." Most of them don't pay Social Security or Medicare taxes. Or income taxes, for that matter.
Is that because they are less moral than employees? No. It's because their employers hire them as "independent contractors," not as employees
It also gives the company a couple of layers of protection from that law passed in 1986
the law that is being referred to is the law that targets companies that hire illegals...
yeeeaaaaaa i invented it all ::)
again you dont know the ins and outs of the problem, you simply use a gut reaction to judge things you know little about...
-

what happens when you start targeting companies that hire illegals and the companies in turn start treating this ppl as "independent contractors" to skirt the law like their doing now?
who do you go after then? that is my point....

First of all, thanks for finally posting a link or source to your claims!
Yes, this happens. You did not invent it. You've proved it. I admit it.
But it happens only in construction, home construction to be exact. And since home construction has been significantly down since 2008, you are making this out to be bigger than it really is.
And your article already addresses how to deal with them:
"It would be far better for Congress, in addition to trying to pass immigration reform that makes sense, to close loopholes that allow employers to wink, nod and treat low-skilled laborers as if they were entrepreneurs so as to avoid paying taxes and other costs."
And your article confirms what I've been saying:
"Many work for food processing plants, janitorial services, restaurants and other low-paying industries."
And according to your article, illegal employees are good for the US:
"Their employers, like mine, deduct money from their paychecks for Social Security and Medicare.
Week after week, these workers pay these taxes, yet few of them are likely to ever receive Social Security or Medicare benefits.
In 2002, the Social Security Administration received about $56 billion in payments with numbers for accounts that don't exist, according to the New York Times. Officials said the vast majority of that is from illegal workers.
It accounted for about $1.50 of every $100 of Social Security revenues that year, and it was expected to grow.
Legal scam by employers
It would be great if all illegal immigrants were employees. According to the New York Times article, officials figure if we removed the contributions of illegal immigrants, Social Security's "long-term funding hole over 75 years would be 10 percent deeper."
That's a healthy contribution to our senior citizens and it would be more if all workers paid."

Im not making it bigger than it is youre simply being ignorant and not seeing it for what it is... ::)
again what happens when other companies do this? the only way to go deal with this is to go after companies that deal with other companies that hire illegals...again holding other company A responsible for company B's employees...so again are you going to go after every grocery store that sells tyson products?
the problem with the way of thinking in the SS is that they arent taking into account the that those ppl will sooner or later need SS too...the SS system is broken the system needs to be fixed otherwise its just a temprorary band aid just like moving back the retiring age or cutting benefits...
-
secondly it doesnt happen soley in construction or home construction specifically... ::)
again you know little, very little it seems about the ins and outs of the illegal immigration problem...

When illegal eventually need SS, as you said, they will not be able to collect it. So what's the problem?

Oh, cut the BS! I am not in favor of exploiting illegal immigrants and you know it. Your article says that they are good for the Social Security. Your article said it, not me.
You keep saying I don't know anything, I'm ignorant, etc. You think the US is the only country with illegal immigration problems? Venezuela has had illegal immigration problems from Colombia for a very long time. All Venezuelan citizens are required to carry with them at all times a national ID, called Cedula de Identidad. It's a shame that's where the US is headed too.

Ive tried alot to help educate you loco I harbor no ill will towards illegals but the situation is what it is and you refuse to see it instead choosing to take a horribly myopic view of the situation turning a wllingly ignorant blind eye to factors that dont follow your views...

bro im not going to hold your hand and have to prove everything i post to you...youve stated multiple times that tyson and smithfield are the two biggest employers of illegals in the country and have never given proof of that not that I care b/c again it doesnt mean shit when you look at the issue...but you will continue your myopic vision quest i assume no matter what I show you...
you called me a liar on independent contractors and now youre calling me a liar again... ::)
AGAIN WILLFULLY IGNORANT!!!!!!!!

I said Tyson and Smithfield are your biggest "problems", not only because of larger numbers of illegals they hire, but because they actually take them across the border and because of their ties with the US government, which does nothing to stop them so production will not be disrupted. I did not say that they are the biggest "employers" of illegals.
I did not call you a liar. I said you invented your claim to force you to post a link, which worked because you immediately Googled it and posted it.
You think I'm willfully ignorant, but you don't know what's coming your way. Will you be okay with legislation requiring all American citizens to carry proof of citizenship at all times? That would work to tell illegals from citizens, right?
-

LOL bro if the search function didnt have a virus right now id make you look more foolish than you already do...
you said i invented the claim but you didnt call me a liar ::) a distinction without a difference...
We dont need national id cards if we enforced the laws we have, enforce the practice of showing citizenship to get a license...and yes FORCE immigrants to carry papers...there are plenty of ways to prove citizenship

The search function has a virus? Bouncing screens? No offense tonymctones, but are you computer literate?
I don't think you are a liar, just misinformed.
Legal, non-citizen US residents are already required to carry their Resident Card("green card"). I'm okay with that and everybody is okay with that.
What do you mean by "there are plenty of ways to prove citizenship." Are you saying you would be okay if legislation is passed requiring all American citizens to carry passport or birth certificate with them at all times?

there isnt need for legislation like that if we enforced the laws we have, but since arizona cant control what other states do they have to act

You've been right about everything? Right right!
Keep patting yourself in the back. So where else does this happen, other than home construction?
Would you be okay if legislation is passed requiring all American citizens to carry passport or birth certificate with them at all times? Just answer the question.

No. Now go back to your video games and let the adults talk.
Believe me, if there were a super realistic video game where you could blow the heads off of some drug cartel illegals coming across the border, I would be playing it all day long...as would millions of other decent, hard working American patriots. Some on here, however, think it's ok for headless bodies to be strewn across the Arizona border. Funny how a conservative can become a "Soft on Crime Bleeding Heart Liberal" at the drop of a Tamale.

LOL bro if the search function didnt have a virus right now id make you look more foolish than you already do...
Is this what you are looking for?
How do you address any company that breaks the law? How do you address companies that cook their books?
Give me some examples. You say most construction companies, so you must know something. Tyson Food and Smithfield Foods are you biggest problems, and they are not using contractors. Why can't you go after the contractors too?

what have I been wrong about? ;)
again loco do some research bro, youve come on here and really made yourself look uninformed...
we already have to carry ID on us...the problem is not all states require you to prove citizenship when you obtain that ID...

Not sure if this is directed at me, but I'm with you on the drug cartel, illegal immigrants and the headless bodies being strewn across the Arizona border. I don't think it's okay and I am against all that.
Are you saying that I'm a conservative who has become "Soft on Crime Bleeding Heart Liberal"? I think illegals should be deported and not allowed in the country again. What I oppose is a law that's impossible to enforce without racial profiling, forcing certain groups of American citizens to carry proof of citizenship at all times.

Not every American citizen has or needs a drivers license. American citizens are not required to carry a drivers license at all times unless they are actually driving.

I know you're a good guy. Just messing with you. I'm sure you're not a Liberal either.

LOL first of all any contract labor can be and often times is independently contracted...this isnt simply confined to homes...again where is your proof of that? oh ya..."its rampant with it" do you understand what rampant means and why it doesnt mean that its exclusive to construction, home construction specifically?
you may not know this but youre required to carry ID...state or federal issued ID if not a drivers license...

tonymctones,
So when an American company contracts work from these illegal contractors who hire illegals, does the American company pay cash or check?

depends they can pay both ways...

Couldn't a law be passed to prevent these contractors from getting paid in cash, then prosecute companies that break this law?

what would that do? they could simply pay in check and they illegals get their checks cashed at check cashing places which are a dime a dozen...
there would still be ppl that pay in cash as well as to skirt the law, I mean the laws that are in place now...taxes etc...
again simply targeting the business that hire illegals and thinking its going to solve the problem is as ignorant as thinking that AZ law by itself is going to solve the illegal immigration problem...its a mutliple part approach that needs to take place

Cash a check for how much? Wouldn't that be too large a sum not to raise an alarm? There are sum limits on cashing checks, right? They will cash the check, but not without first having the customer fill out a form and report it to the government. These rules/laws are already in place, right?
