Assasin's Creed 1 ? pretty much the same you described it, but it was like doing the exact same shit, just in different locations, so it got boring after the 3rd mission

I don`t think there has ever been a game made to date that can even compare graphics wise let alone story wise.  The Characters are some of the most memorable you will ever come across in any genre, including movies.

I love the hat-tip to There Will Be Blood the movie when they named the oil producing part "Plainview".   ;)

Rockstar is the best!

I bet old Nigel West Dickens can give the best Supplement companies a run for their money in the Snake Oil Department.

yeh, rockstar is the BEST they just take it to a level no other companies do

they go the extra mile with the easter eggs and cultural references, and the level of detail and have a real good grasp on what is cool and what isnt

Lets not get ahead of ourselves, I agree its one of the best games ever made but an open world game with miles and miles of terrain to render is never going to have the best graphics.

RDR is fun, but we shouldn't get ahead of ourselves.  The game isn't groundbreaking in terms of gameplay or storyline, and the graphics are basically what graphics SHOULD look like for new games.  The game uses the GTA IV Rage graphics engine, so it's obviously going to look good, but it's not something outlandish.

Although I loathe PC gaming, games like Crysis destroy RDR graphics wise.

Storyline wise, I haven't completed the game, but I can say for certain the MGS series is easily better, at least to me.  This one seems pretty standard in terms of story.

Then again, games are a subjective medium, so beauty is in the eye of the beholder.  This game may be the best to you, and there's nothing wrong with that.  That's one of the best aspects of gaming.

I have to admit that I really am the only person in the gaming world who didn't love GTA; there is too much tedious driving and there was one mission where you had to shoot a guy on a motorbike and I could never do it.

I also like the violence to be more realistic.

You're not alone.  I love III because it was original and fresh, and they perfected it with Vice City.  I thought SA and IV were great in their own right, but not for me since I had played the other two.  By the time SA rolled around, I found the format to be a little tedious, especially the timed missions and didn't finish..  By IV, I was done with the series.

If I had played IV as the first rendition of the Rockstar sandbox format, I probably would have loved it.

Haha...the mission where you're to shoot the motorcyclist was a great one.

Turns out you don't have to shoot him while he's on his bike; just have to keep up with him, as he eventually gets off the cycle and has a shootout with you. lol

the game is ifne.  Sometimes rinding for a long time is a little much.  Overall it's a good game, not sure if I would buy it though.  My friend rented it so i got to play a few missions and do some challenges.

oh, you can fast travel

and there is also that slow motion targeting system

and the world is HUGE

the more i hear about this game the more it sounds like rockstar took some of the better parts of FALLOUT 3 (with the qucik travel adn VATS )

FALLOUT 3 was a superior game in some some senses , but weak in some o fthe shooting and graphics (because the in game world was so HUGE)

but it certainly looks like they took some of the better parts

dude, it started sucking the 50th time i came off the shitty bike. I really need to try to finish that game one day - I've only played a bit of it. Just seems so repetitive with the cars and radio stations and driving for hours and hours.

I seem to be more of a COD bad company type guy.

Yeah this game is bad ass.  I have been playing for the past two days and it really rocks.

Just the horse riding around the countryside is cool as hell.

The sound is amazing.

I love this game.   Getting the lasso and lassoing some hooker in the middle of the street is great.  Then I stab the shit out of her and take off.  Sweet!

Hands down best game to date on any platform. Rockstar consistently pushes these machines to their absolute limit and sets the standard.

You can also claim your cheats as you earn them from the Rockstar Social Club.

I have been playing this game literally non-stop.  Every angle looks like a painting, its really a beautiful game.

There is sooooo much to do in terms of challenges, even in Multiplayer.  Nothing like being in Armadillo with bullets whizzing by, windows shot out around you ,hiding from other players and taking pot shots.

Are you playing on Xbox or PS3.  If XboxLive, Add me.  My name is: The True Adonis

Yah I am running it on Surround with a Giant Sub-Woofer.  The concussive blast of the Shotgun is incredible!
