This is a development which will have far-reaching ramifications. However, it's best not to panic during times like these. Let's just step back, take a deep breath and access our options going forward.

The word you wanted to use is "assess" not "access."  :)

Due to unforseen circumstances, he may never compete again. Putnam, as most of us realize, that hindsight is 20/20, and that he was never in the running to play wit the big boys. He knew he was "given" his pro card, due to marketing and his "handicap"...

With all due respect Putnam never deserved his Pro card nor any Pro AMI contract....(see pictures above) ...and considering how hard you worked to earn your Pro card I would think you felt stronger about this than anyone?

The guy won it fair and square, I personally thought he should have won the year he took 2nd...as for contracts, I am but one voice on the team.

Guess we can disagree on this one. Not trying to bad mouth Peter, but I've seen guys at local shows who look better than he did on that day. As far as fair and square, well that's another story. Sometimes the judges pick the wrong guy for whatever reason and then people start raggin on the guy who won when he doesn't deserve it when the judges do.

Is Peter Putnam no longer a Weider athlete bodybuilder?

Fixed.  ;D

Peter Putnam and his wife are both wonderful people!!!  I look forward to seeing them both at the 2010 Mr. Olympia contest.  Peter gave me a free autographed photo signed to my website at the 2007 Mr. Olympia.  However, I'm not sure I feel right about accepting free photos from bodybuilders given that that it is how they make their income.  In the future, I will probably only accept free photographs if I give the bodybuilders a plug on my website or something else in return.

Jessica is a very pleasant woman.  She was very nice to talk to you and not arrogant at all.

I've never really understood movies like "Shallow Hal" [2001] which implies that unattractive women are such wonderful people while attractive women are so ugly on the inside.  Jessica and other women prove the opposite.  And while I only met her briefly, she seemed very sincere and I would like to believe that I am a good judge of character.  I talked to Peter more extensively and I can definitely say he is a good guy and I think his picking Jessica to be with says a lot about her.

if he was the best guy on stage that day, they should have just canceled the show.  it greatly diminishes the value of a 'pro' card when scrubs like putnam have one.  There are tons of guys on messageboards across the internet who dont even compete that have better physiques than him.

I guess he got tired of
"Living the dream".....

I'm sure his personal training work will pay the mortgage.  He's right back where he never deserved to leave: Riding her coat tails. I kind of feel sorry for her but it's hard.  Fake as the day is long.  The are both in the right field, though.  Their physiques are as fake as their persona.
