if you want to see dorian good at mr. olympia 94 just compare his shape there to his shape of 97 :-X

how the fuck do you go from having a Olympia caliber physique, to going onstage with that? Disgrace to all his fans, a real insult to all his suporters... shoulda hung it up.
did he think no-one would notice?
even Gaspari looked better in his comeback.

sure it was better if nasser retired earlier but i really dont think his last "poor" shows have affected his name now!.. still a lot of ppl consider him one of the uncrowned mr. olympia..
same with gaspari who is remembered now as the guy who came 2nd to haney 3 times in a row and no one cares how he looked at his last shows or what were his places there..
and i am not defending nasser's decision to compete when he was totally away from his best!!..

no kid i am not a blind fan of nasser.. when he looked bad i never supported him!!.. not like ND for example who said that dorian deserved to take the 1/4 turns at mr. olympia 97 with a totally deformed arm!!..

I also remember Gaspari as Haney's runner up, at his best, but thats because he didnt inject foreign substances into his physique, to the point of ridicule.
He got onstage looking past his prime, ripped, but also with torn bodyparts, wide waist, etc. It was one last hurrah.
With Nasser, if the same had happened, no prob, but with those delts and arms full of synthol...cmon...

watch this and think again. in 99 his FDB was right up there with the best ever. yes, I agree in the AC shot the midsection is a bit fucked up, but its common knowledge that his AC gut/midsection was 1000x worse than 99 and prior so that is no big surprise.

Im not getting into pointing out all of Ronnie's flaws.
Was his FDB pretty good? Yep.
One of the top ever? not even close.
And before you say it, I know Dorians wasnt either, so don't go there.

YEP. spot on. at least someone understands how contests are judged.
Doz smoked everyone in front lat spread and rear back poses- not just because of his incredibly thick back, but also his lower body.
his FDB is a horrible pose for him- but lucky for him its the worst pose of most pros.
Dexter jackson's FDB is probably the best ive seen. if he had better calves, itd be close to perfect.
Haney FDB- excellent...oliva and AS were great for their time...robbie robinson had a good one back in the day also, but the list gets pretty thin really fast.
considering its the pose that shows up the true balance and symmetry of a BB it seems to have only a minor impact on a show's outcome...
it should be weighted more IMO.
and a Mr.O should arguably have the best FDB on stage, as its the pose most want to see.

yeah i posted a pic quiet awhile back on one of Mike allvella's old school pic threads however that was back in the day in the mid-late 1990s, still in good shape these days about 100-102kg, although not built like in that pic @ 122-125kg etc etc.

The FDB is basically a showcase for the arms right? No chest or delt display, and basically lat width. But I guess that I really don't pay much attention to anything below the waist so maybe I'm missing something LOL

no the waist to legs flow also play a big effect.i think yates pre tear top to bottom legs and all look sick esp the b/w precontest photos.

Flex just came along in a bad time for the O the times were just changing to the monster types, one of the best all time in my book.

very, and throw haney in there too,his chest stayed full in that pose and all 3 had short torso's 2 boot.colemans chest was/is huge ,i think it hd to do with arnold and haney ability to vacumm there torso's and get that lift.coleman got so big and also stomach area that it took away from such a dominant pose he had when he was lighter.
