this is like an Onion video

Not that I hope he wins anything or that he will, I feel kind of bad for him. He did win the nomination fair and square and think he should stand his ground despite being a complete moron.
This is still a democracy afterall (lets hope) and he did clearly win the Primary. Hopefully this will wake up people out of their apathy. Sarah Palin should have been enough, but it can get just as bad as we see here.
Hopefully more people will pay attention or else our Government will be filled with Sarah Palins and Alvin Greenes. Thats not the kind of United States I want to live in.
-
this is silly. completely silly. beyond silly. this is something unreal.
In March, unemployed veteran Alvin Greene showed up at the Democratic party headquarters in Columbia, South Carolina, to register as a candidate for U.S. Senate. To pay the filing fee, he was bearing a personal check for $10,440 -- which he has insisted all along was his own money. But party Chairwoman Carol Fowler turned him away, saying he needed a campaign check.
TPMmuckraker has obtained from the party the "campaign" check that Greene, the man now being called a "plant" by Rep. James Clyburn (D-SC), returned with several hours later. It is distinguished as a campaign check by the words "Alvin M. Greene for Senate" scribbled in pen in the upper left hand corner.
The memo line of the $10,440 check, from National Bank of South Carolina, reads only, "US Senate."
Check it out below:
-
This is hilarious... ;D
You have to pay your political party to file as a member of that party? Do the fees very depending on the office you're running for? ???
-
they have open primaries, this is awesome. there are supposed to be a bunch of louisiana candidates doing the same thing shortly. hahaha this guy is seriously funny...
-

It really is.
What is interesting: The majority of people are stupid and this was the Founding Fathers greatest fear which is why they did not let the People vote for the President initially. Thomas Jefferson must be rolling over in his grave. ;D

I don't recall Alvin Greene, being a mayor or a governor. And, I'll take Palin over the buffoon currently sitting in the White House every day and TWICE on Sunday.
-
Isn't this guy facing felony charges too?
-
yeah, he's the prefect plant. An unemployed dude who shows up with $10k to run for office, with a handwritten check. Holds barely any meetings, can't recall anything about his campaign... then the day after he wins, all this info about his felony charge is released on cue.
1) It's hilarious and sad - nobody can deny that.
2) He's a plant -- you're a moron if you believe this guy did it on his own

What does that say, however, about the guy he BEAT?
More importantly, what is up with the Dems, trying to pay/persuade people to drop out of Senate races?
-
hahahahaha what a clusterfvck this state is...
-
hahahahaha what a clusterfvck this state is...
You missed the question. This is now the THIRD time (about which we know) that the Dems have tried to muscle someone out of a Senate race (first Sestak, then Romanoff, and now Greene).
What's going on here?
-
oh, I didn't know this policy started in 2010 lol...
It was politics as usual when they tried to bribe sestak - IF that is what happened. There were 3 jobs he was allegedly offered - 1 was filled three weeks earlier, one he wasn't eligible for due to being a rep, and the other he had already applied for and was under consideration. Sestak's claims may have been more bravado and Scott-Brown-Brash-Idiocy than the actual truth.
But yeah, this Greene candidate is probably 85 IQ and was repeating what his lawyer told him. Any party should try to bounce him, if only because of his felony charges.

But, Mr "Hope and Change.....Hmmmm....hmmm m....hmmmm" CAMPAIGNED on ending politics as usual. Yet, we have his administration trying to bribe or bully AT LEAST three Dems out of their Senate races.
What gives, here?
-
I guess people are so fed up with the current and "usual" politicians that they'll vote for any new, unknown name they see on the ballot. You can add a pet pig's name to the ballot and people will elect the pig over the current politician in office. This is dangerous. That is how Hugo Chavez got elected in Venezuela.
-
I think mccain would have won the 08 election if he had let palin resign due to 'personal issues' and brought on Romney.
Sometimes, you realize you are attached to a loser, and you sell.

What revisionist history are you reading? Need I remind you that the ONLY TIME McCain surpassed Obama in the polls was AFTER he picked Palin?
And, note the rallies he had. Note the attendance McCain had without Palin vs. what he had WITH Palin. It was night and day.
It was the economic collapse, coupled with McCain erratic response, that knocked Obama back onto message about McCain being Bush III.

Ya McCain got a temporary bump immediately after adding palin to the ticket, ...but as soon as she opened her mouth, and America got a good look at her, ...it was all downhill from there. His numbers sank faster than a lead balloon.

Summer of 2008, there were some days and weeks on Gallup where Mccain did lead Obama. They were brief, and obama led more of the time, but mccain did lead when it was just he and obama.
http://www.reuters.com/article/idUKN1948672420080820
Poll shows McCain in 5-point lead over Obama
Two weeks before Palin was announced (when most of the world had never heard of her), Mccain led by 5 points.

The base RAT voters voted for this guy. Whats the problem?
And to compare him to Palin is just more fucking bs from 240 and TA all trying to mask the absolutely catastrophe they have shilled for the last two years.
I would take Palin 24/7/365/ over what we have now.

Check the electoral and national polls from RCP (which averages many of those polls). You will see that McCain led Obama, after he picked Palin, throughout the month of September. Again, check the rallies. The knock on McCain was that the conservatives based was NOT energized by McCain. That changed when Palin joined the tickets.
But, as stated earlier, the ecomonic collapse killed McCain's campaign. It allowed Obama and the Dems to quit fumbling over how to handle Palin and re-focus on equating McCain with Bush.
-
Without Palin , McCain would have gotten 43% at best.
240 is just smoking his dope again. Palin saved McCains ass from an absolute disaster even worse than it was.

I don't know about that. There were an awful lot of Republicans who came out for Obama AFTER Palin had her infamous interview with Katie Couric.

Yet they overlooked the fact that the MARXIST/"PROGRESSIVE" at the top of the ticket never even held a job before in his life, and it shows every single day.

We weren't talking about Sept - nobody is disputing that. You said

So I pointed out a time - 2 weeks before choosing Palin - where mccain led by 5 points.
For some reason, many repubs believe Obama led Mccain all summer - but it's not true. Just most of the summer.
-
Dear God how many times do we have to do this?
Obama won because of the following:
1. 24/7 MSM kneepadding
2. Liberal White Guilt
3. Bush Fatigue
4. Economy crashing
5. McCain suspending the campaign & "fundamentals of the economy are strong"
6. McCain disasatrous GOTV efforts.
-
yes 33.
however, that is a new discussion. And if you want to go there...
1. 24/7 MSM kneepadding - Oh, FOX isn't part of the MSM now? haha oh god.
2. yep
3. yep
4. yep - which is why replacing her with romney would have been a winning move
5. the man is inept... what do you expect?
6. Palin bashing community organizers (who actually work for GOP GOTV efforts sure didn't help hahahahah)
7. Your list completely ignores voters who decided Palin was an idiot. You deny they exist. I know a few people myself. They were all, "Oooh a woman, this is incredible, I really like her!" Then, a few weeks later, they declared her a moron and didn't vote for her. You ignore these people. Why? Do you think there isn't a group of americans who didn't like Obama, but feared an uneducated religious zealout with more confidence than brain cells could be a problem?
-
I am so glad this is happening...just maybe you dumbass americans will see your political system for what it is...A SHAM. After the congressman told of his fears of Guam tipping over you should have gone to your representatives, congressman, etc, home and put them in a pine box by whatever means and saved yourselves from further embarrassment and destruction.
-
yes 33.

Uneducated? I could have sworn that Palin has a college degree. And, she certainly has more real-world executive experience than Obama (which isn't necessarily saying a whole lot).
Meanwhile, the big bad, bright Harvard law graduate is cluelessly floundering before our very eyes.
333386 doesn't ignore those people who turned on Palin. He simply points out that those were more-than-exceeded by those who liked Palin, some of whom only supported McCain because of her. Look at his pitiful rallies before Palin and the massive crowd he got after Palin (or at least, when she was with him at those rallies).
His points and mine are similar: Palin didn't sink McCain; the economic crash (and his silly reaction to it) DID.
-
uneducated - yes.
Not talking univ degrees (although a journalism degree from 5 college is weak).
more like, has no clue what's going on the world, despite reading "EVERY" newspaper daily.
-
DAMN...you americans still have no fucking clue about your political system...still believing politicians will actually change anything about the way americas political, war, financial systems run. Notice that nothing has changed ioin your country since Reagan has been president even though there have been Democratic, Republic candidates/presidents in office. over the past 20 plus years. Hopefully you will all learn soon that the government that you see is not the government that runs america...

Don't you think her experience with energy and oil issues would be helpful now?
No, people like yourself bought, hook, line and sinker, the Harvard law garbage and are still defending your mistake.

The only knowledge Palin has of oil is how hot to make the oil she uses to fry the fish she caught in the waters off of Alaska which is so close to Russia she can see it out of her kitchen window :o :o :o.

hell no.
because she never showed us anything past "Drill baby drill!" and the ability to accept $ for drilling and um, never finish a pipeline.
Rather, she SHOULD be delivering "The Palin Solution" to the BP crisis, or "Palin Plan for Energy independence".
You know, well-researched 200 page documents detailing how to FIX SHIT.
Instead, we get 180 character twitter tweets about "Rahm can't use the R-word but Rush is allowed cuz its funny!"
So please, all her experience ain't shit because sh'es not solving a damn problem with it. Obama is simply making ppl feel better about a problem he can't stop. palin isn't even doing that. if she's so smart, let's hear her deliver something other than "obama sucks." Hell, let's hear ANY repub deliver a solution to the probelm.
-
GMAFB 240 - look at her Bartiromo or Kudlow videos on this issue.
And stop shilling for Obama, its pathetic. I thought you have wisened up by now. I guess not.
-
I'm not shilling for Obama.
I'm BEGGING the repubs to come up with solutions besides "Elect us and we'll fix it!"
Reminds me of Mccain saying ONLY HE knew how to catch bin laden. What, he felt it was cool to keep it a secret because he was only a senator? If you elect me, I'll let the cat out of the bag?
Your shilling for Palin - saying her "energy expertise" could help this is silly. She has a bigger platform than 99% of republicans - and all she has used it for is to bitch about Dem use of the R-word, and read her Boehnner-authored teleprompter lines on FOX twice a week ;)
-
haha this guy is a plant. He seems mighty uncomfortable up there.
-
Greene is even dumber then John Lewis and thats saying something!!

Coming from two people who kneepad daily for this disgusting admn, any opinion you spew on these boards is usually considered of little merit.

For your and 33386's sake I hope the GOP doesn't agree with you, 'cause if they do and run her in 2012,
....you'll have Obama for another 4 years, ...and 333 will surely blow his brains out. LOL

You mean the democrat primary voters. This fool is running against DeMint. DeMint will now have his seat as a lock.
Cue in 240 to kneepad Greene somehow.

By 2012, if this catastrophe in the WH is still there, anyone the GOP runs will be competitive.

Well she does have a golden opportunity right now, right in her lap.
There is an oil spill in Alaska, and a shut down of the Alaskan portion of the Transcanada Pipeline.
We're not hearing as much about it because it's not as sexy as the spill in the Gulf, ...but it's there nonetheless, ...and it's a simpler fix than the Deepwater Horizon. Despite the lack of complexity, she can still reap huge points if she tackles it, ...but I think to play it up would simply be another nail in the coffin of drill baby drill. The opportunity is there for her to seize tho... if she can. I don't think she has the ovaries to pull it off tho.

Hahaha Poor Vince is probably too embarrassed to show his face on this board.
Looks like the Republicans learned a big lesson from McCain and decided to make the same strategy work,
...only this time, they're gonna make sure it works in their favour.
-
South Carolina is apparently an open primary state, so it's possible a lot of Republicans voted for him. :) The Democrats who voted for him should be ashamed of themselves.

It truly makes a mockery of the whole process.

She quit her job as governor.
She is only offering her "personal ADVICE"... and even then, she's just waiting as millions lose their job, to deliver some secret solution her 9 months as an oil lobbyist and 6 years of journalism community college taught her.

-
Same as obama did right 240?
I concede obama is completely impotent on this issue, so let's not steer it to zero.
Tell us what palin knows that can stop all this - and why she isn't sharing.

Looks like the democrats are perfectly capable of planting candidates in races so they can hurt the repubs.
