Christianity is not worse - its as radical as islam, however Christianity is mostly practised in countries were over the years of time
christian have enjoyed more freedom, so the church was forced to adapt and be more liberal.
Take Ireland for example - in 1965 a person that I know (irish) who was not married to his wife at that time wanted to go for a holiday to France, that was a big deal at the
time since nobody had money to do so, the local priest denied his request for holidays and asked them to give them their passports so he can hold the passport until they were married and only then were they able to go for their holidays.
That was 65 .... since then a lot of things have changed, same for islam, islam is practiced in many countries were things are not that strict and there are many faces of islam and many parts of islam were spokespeople ask to be more lenient.
Its just that we always tend to see (due to the media) the ugly side.

They have well demonstrated in the past the capacity for tremendous advancement & innovation exceeding that of the then western world. What's needed in islam is the same thing that allowed the west to make tremendous leaps forward in advancing our civilization... namely a massive uprising of the masses against the prescribed systematic dogmas & demagoguery that rules the fundamentalists. A new Islamic revolution completely unlike the previous one, and definitely not spearheaded by the Ayatollahs or fundamentalist dinosaurs, but spear headed by His Highness Shah Karim al-Hussayni Aga Khan IV. I know that sounds very Masonic "Order out of chaos", but I think that's what's needed.
