Title: BATTERY REPLACEMENT
Post by: epic_alien on June 18, 2010, 01:13:20 PM

2 and a half  years ago i  bought a interstate battery for my car.  well it started going dead just recently.  slow crank when it starts up. so i go to the dealer where i bought it from and they say ok cool we will throw another battery there for you. i sit down and they put another one in. the lady at the counter says ok  here is the bill. 150.00 dollars. i said what im not paying that for a battery.  the guy had put a napa legend in there and just thought id pay the price for it. i said im not paying that much for a battery. why didnt you put a interstate in there like last time? he said well interstate costs more!

he said you just want something for free, i said no i didnt ask for anything for free, i asked for a battery. and you didnt tell me what it was gonna cost or what kind you were putting in, he just stormed off, and im so pissed. its bothering me. i have a hard time letting things go when im mistreated.  can you help me forget this shit?

What did you ask for exactly before he put it in?  Why didn't you ask for the cost of the battery before hand?

I just bought a battery from autozone the other day, cost 112 dollars.... with 12 dollars back when you bring them the old battery!  So essentially 100, but the guy told me the price before he even got it out for me.  Installed myself though!

i walked in and said i think i need a new battery, he said ok we will put another one in, this was entire conversation.

then i get a bill for a napa legend thats 150 bucks.

im not gonna pay 150 for a battery.

ive looked into it, and a die hard gold is around 90 bucks

i am willing to pay that, just not 150

the guy didnt understand that, and said that i wanted it for free, pissed me off, i dont ask for anything for free.

guy

how do you treats customers like that?

Top of the line battery shouldn't cost more than $50. If you can't install it yourself, take a steak knife to your own throat.

But agree with card fan, I mean fuck battery shouldnt't be that much, hell even I know how to install a car battery..

Don't let other people work on your car unless it's a big job you can't do yourself.

ok i checked the water level it was low. but i think its to late. once its low the cells dry out i guess.

i can install my own battery i just like going to where i bought it which was a car shop that does customs, and i paid a for a good battery initially and thought it still had warranty, guess it didnt, but them putting in 150 buck battery was insane. i went to sams club cause i have membership, they have the interstate battery i bought for 96 bucks at the custom shop, for 60 bucks.  so if the battery doesnt work well after the water being filled and im charging it now, then i guess its sams club.

i went to sears, they had die hard gold for 110 bucks and the platinum was 209!!

since i live in arizona and a battery last 2 years here im gonna go with the cheap  shit.

fuck i hate things dealing with mechanical shit and fixing shit!

Why didn't you ask them to test it first? Or you could have recharged it or checked the levels of it before going thru all that trouble. And of course, asking the price. usually you can go to counter ask what they have and the prices and the rebates, gaurantees, discounts, and warranties.

The die hard gold is $90, you just happened to pay a $60 service fee, because you failed to realize that the man who installed that battery over the course of 3 minutes was none other than the lead actor from the hit movie Die Hard, Bruce Willis.

Hope this helps,

First of all real men ride motorcycles and dont even own a car(except in winter months)

second of all a real alpha male knows how to fix his own car. Figuring you don't even know how to do something as simple as replacing a battery tells us what?

I love seeing my friends getting ripped off at the dealer for stupid shit they should know how to do.

I have the original battery in both my bikes. My R1 just crossed the 40,000 mile mark this morning. But if I do need a battery I will go to the salvage yard and pick one out of a fresh crashed bike for 5$
