"Hi, im Lonesome George, last surviving member of my species.." 

can you imagine, his entire species is done for when he dies...pinta giant tortise...what would it be like to be the last human on earth??  this guy knows..

Imagine how expensive they could sell his meat for if they killed him.

doesnt those fellas grow a few hundred years old or somethang?

Couldn't they take his sperm and inseminate a close species? Or take his DNA and clone him?
