Title: What ever happened to real posing?
Post by: Shockwave on June 27, 2010, 04:15:46 PM
Seriously? I just watched the Cutler guest posing, and it seems like (short of that stripper fag Kai) that all the pros do now, is walk out and hit some poses with the music in the background. They dont even try to make a routine. What happened to the Shawn Rays, the Ed Corneys, etc?
Its like theyre not even trying. How hard is it to hit the poses in time with the music? Let alone actually come up with something that suits the music.
Hell even Nasser and Dorian had decent routines, they posed to powerful classical type music and they had respectable powerful routines that were fairly "manly" for lack of a better word, and in sync with the music.

Its not like its fucking difficult. Bodybuilders today fucking fail.

I hate to say it...
But as amazing a Mr O as he was,... he really was the start of this dark age for Bodybuilding.
Seems like the little dignity Bodybuilding had left, died with Dorian...  :(

Are you there for muscle, or there to be a poser?

Its the complete package.
There is a reason there is a posing round.
This attitude is why so much of bodybuilding has gone downhill.

Shawn Ray didn't make any money from posing, nowadays you can make 10K for doing the robot ,shaking your ass or dancing like a fag.

Goodrum is doing what he can to keep the traditional posing alive.  He actually charges to teach posing routines

IMO posing is actually harder than the training.  In bodybuilding you train to pose. We used to spend sometime's up to an hour a day just on posing. Today most of these guys have it backwards.

Holy macrel.  Not many of these kids are going to know who Luis Tiant is.  I faced him in winter ball in 1977 or so
