Zogby: 60% Says U.S. in 'Wrong Direction'
Monday, 28 Jun 2010
The percentage of likely voters who say the United States is headed in the wrong direction has reached 60 percent, according to a new Zogby Interactive poll.
The figure represents the highest percentage to disapprove of the country's direction since the beginning of Barack Obama's administration. It's an increase of five points from three weeks ago.
Just 29 percent of likely voters responded that the nation is going in the right direction, while 12 percent said they were unsure.
The president's overall approval numbers during the same time frame dropped slightly to 46 percent approving and 53 percent disapproving.
Republicans have assumed a two-point lead, 43-41, over Democrats in the generic ballot of party preference leading toward November's congressional elections, Zogby concluded based on a June 25-28 poll of 2,061 voters.
Zogby's online panel is representative of the U.S. adult population. The survey's margin of error is plus or minus 2.2 percentage points.

The GOP needs to suck up to community organizers.
They were ousted from the party in 2008, and the election turnout shows what happens when you try a GOTV campaign without community organizers.
if they can win back this demo, they can win back the White house.
-
Republicans lost because the economy sucked, McCain was a marginal candidate, Obama raised $600 million dollars, and independents and a lot of Republicans voted for Obama.
Had zip to do with community organizing. It's mostly about the money.
-
And none of that has anything to with the poll.
-
Mccain pulled a lot of $ from his GOTV effort. Some of his offices even CLOSED BEFORE ELECTION DAY. His people weren't motivated. Many of them worked as community organizers before the election, and felt offended at palin's remarks that they don't do any actual work.
True to her word, however, in the week before and on Nov 2, 2008, the Repub community organizers didn't do much actual work...

If McCain had $600 million dollars he could have purchased prime time 30 minute infomercials on all the major networks (except CNN) like Obama. Cash is king.

Well if he got money based on his campaign promise of bringing "change" to DC, then you can argue that he stole some of the money.
-
How is it that he got 600 million? The fact he got it says a lot.

There seems to be an accusation he stole it.

He gives a great speech. Or least he used to give a great one. I can't even listen to him anymore. :-\
He got the backing of a lot of old money. Timing was right.
Oprah.

240 - please tell me why anyone other than welfare bums, bankers, govt workers, etc would think this country is going in the right direction.

47% of the population isn't paying taxes... you'd think at least 47% of americans would be happy with things...
-
gosh 47% hmmm that pretty close to obams approval rating isnt it? goes to show who he is trying to help.. not the people that keep america running

Anyone who knows John or has seen any of those polls understands how the questions are written. A poll's results can say anything the writer wants.
