unimpressed

dominance is not taking a beating and then pulling out a win

if that fight was in a bar or school yard playground everybody would be saying brock looked like a bitch

My grandmother could have submitted Carwin in the second round.  Getting a punch thrown at you, running away, followed by throwing yourself on the ground in a turtle shell and getting raped for 4minutes is not impressive.  The head arm choke is one of the first chokes I learned in BJJ, Chris Lytle got robbed for sub of the night.

wtf, lytle didnt win sub of the night?  that was some damn skillful jiujitsu he pulled off.  lesnar did a 101 level choke to a gassed opponent.  more ufc bias.

ill agree with all, lesner looked like a bitch!!! but if u watch all of carwins past fights he never went 100% at first seconds like he did against brock... maybe nerves or adrenaline... but he got caught.. lesner won but he did look really bad in that fight..... in the video he tried to swing and carwin bitch slapped his punches.... pretty sad... i think lesner got lucky and carwin got too over pumped... rematch he gets owned... all of carwins other top fights against ganzaga and mir he took his time.. this fight he jsut got too hyped and gassed out.

A true Heavyweight dominates..
Brock did not Dominate..
Pure luck he was able to survive the first round..
Dana got lucky this time..that the ref didnt stop the fight..
it would of been nice to see the Nuclear meltdown Dana's would of had if he is cash cow would of lost the fight.... ;D

Maybe Carwin trains his BJJ defense at the same school as Fedor.

Maybe Brock trains striking defense with 9 year old girls,  I'd compare him to another fighter but Ive never seen another fighter do that at this level.

Pretty much every fighter that Carwin has faced curled up.  Only difference is Brock is the 1st to survive.

no.  He KO'd gonzaga flat, and beat the shit out of mir, but neither assumed the fetal turtle position.

I agree...I have NEVER seen a fighter take that many blows and stand up and recover in the same round.

Pretty amazing beast that Lesnar guy is.

Mr. Emelianenko takes one punch to the nose from rogers and you say he was "dominated" ::)

Lesnar's the champ until proven otherwise. Doesn't matter how he won or how bad a beating he took in the first round. He's the one who had his hand raised at the end of the bout.

None of these internet tough guys want to give this guy any credit, which is baffling to me.

The dude is awesome AND improving with every fight.

Well said.  The guys stands for everything I dislike in fighters.  He is cocky & disrespectful.  And he wins, not because  of his great skill, but because of his raw power.

That said, he does have amazing cardio for a guy that big, he has shown that he is very durable, and with every fight, his skills only get better.  Other than a freak punch on the button, I can't imagine anyone who can stop him at this point.

Rodgers who? Are you referring to that overweight, previously over-rated, over-hyped, HW that Overeem destroyed and exposed in his last fight?
The same guy who is not anywhere near a CURRENT Top 10 ranking...

Yes..Fedor did struggle with him. Embarrassing for Fedor really.

Agree with you and MS...

I dislike Brock really, but he did earn a lot of respect in his last fight.

Call it what ever you want, it is remarkable what he has accomplished in his short MMA career.
He is only getting better and improving. This will make it even harder for his opponents to create a gameplan to beat him.

so when shane carwin falls out of the top 10 somewhere down the road (heck you waited years to say fedor was overrated after 1 loss ::))  you will come back here and say brock's performance against that "can" carwin wasn't impressive?

Couple things here that you are leaving out...I have been saying Fedor was overrated WAY before his loss.  His loss just verified it to you guys who thought he was still #1 HW.

Another thing  is that I would never refer to Carwin as a can....now if he loses to several low level HW's and gets cut from the UFC, then turns around and fights a #1 ranked HW, I would can him a UFC reject. That would be the truth right?

Kind of like what Arvloski and Sylvia did. They were used for their names, not their talent, fresh of their shit canning from the UFC.

Hopefully this clears up my views for you. If you need more clarification, just let me know.

so if that happens to carwin, you won't use him as an example of brock beating "elite" fighters

you'll say brock came close to losing to a ufc reject, right?

Nice try Earl.  There is a big difference between beating Chuck Liddell or Cro-Cop in their prime, vs. beating them now.  Someone can be an elite fighter one day, and a complete can the next.  You know that, right?

but if arlovski and sylvia are cans just because they have losses outside of the ufc, wouldn't carwin be the same if he lost outside of ufc?

what if carwin loses his next fight, does that make brock look bad?

If Carwin lost 2-3 straight fights against weaker opponents, that would make Brock's win less impressive.

Lots of variables here, but most likely yes. Plus, Carwin has never had a loss, hard to say how it will affect him.

But if he does drops a few fights inside or outside of the UFC, it would diminish Brocks win.

You are entitled to your opinion, but the REALITY is that Brock had his hand raised at the end to the fight.

This is not the schoolyard or WWE.

Had this happened in a school yard, Brock could have killed Carwin by any way he chose after putting him to sleep. There's not tapping out in a real fight ::)

Jup you probably know how to get out of one as well. Is it really realistic to believe that a purple belt in Shane is not able to get out of this beginner sub (He doesnt even try though he has is arms and legs free)?

Have you considered Carwin was gassed a could not breathe as it was before the choke.

Yeah he really seemed super gassed walking back to his seat after round 1 and eyeblinking brock in round 2.

Shut yourself off of the indoctrination, Carwin runs god knows how many kilometers each day. He was simply not too gassed to move his legs.

Even Vladimir Voronov says he threw the fight.

Then the Dana White crap that Carwin was send to the hospital hyperventilating in panick while you just see him talking to his team back stage, GTFO.

All fraud. UFC = WWF

it never would've gotten to that point

you know every time a fight breaks out in public it is broken up before it can go a full 5 minute ufc round

if it were junior high, shane carwin would be the alpha dog on the school grounds and all the kids would be saying "did you see brock get his ass kicked"

brock would bow his head every time he saw him in school :D

why isn't brock gassing in all that suit of muscle, mind?

Because Brock's body naturally carries all of that weight without having to train for size.  Brock trains for explosiveness and conditioning and still manages to be a 270lbs. freak.  If Brock had as much muscle on his frame as he had when he was in the WWE, he too would be gassing fast.

Carwin, has trained hard to put on all of the muscle that he is carrying around.  If he were to train like Borck, Carwin would probably drop 15-20 lbs. and drastically improve his conditioning.  And, he would still have sick KO power...
