According to the reports he'll be going back to welterweight and could debut as soon as UFC 121 against Martin Kampfman. Good for him and good for the UFC.

i like the fight game, so i watch boxing and mma. i just call it like i see it.

Jake Shields is garbage and will never make it in the UFC. He is a one dimensional bore with a suspect chin and absolutely no stand up. He hits as hard as a pillow filled with cotton balls. Needless to say, he is one of MindSpins favorite fighters. You can draw your own conclusion from there.

You sound a little bitter about the fact that he was taken away from Strikeforece.
I don't think Jake Shields has really been tested as much as he should, considering he is ranked in the top 10, but now that he has gone to the big leagues, time will tell.
He is a lot like Fedor in a way, he looks good, but he hasn't been fighting the best IMO.
Kind of like Fedor, except Shields is not afraid of testing himself.
He did pretty well though, fighting Hendo at at huge weight disadvantage.

Fedor WAS holding the #1HW ranking hostage. So I was inclined to watch him. But you are right, now that he is irrelevant and was proven to be over rated I will complain much less about him.

Jake Sheilds is a good fighter, although he's definatley not a draw. He's been around for a long time and is one of those fighters who train with decent boxers and strikers and has for many years, yet still has shown no improvement in the standup department whatsoever. He's does occasionally train at AKA with Kosckeck,Fitch, and Swick, when he's not with Team Cesar Gracie. I'm kinda curious to see what his policies are on potentially fighting friends. He'll be a tough fight for the top guys in the division, but he won't be winning any fight of the night bonuses for sure. Watch out Kos, there's a new "blanket" in town.
