Title: Tampa Pro - Will Troy Alves win the contest?
Post by: Ron on July 17, 2010, 08:57:13 AM

Opinions on the Mens Pro BB Contest

1 - Troy Alves
2 - Ben White
3 - Johnnie Jackson
4 - Hideatada Yamagishi
5 - Ed Nunn
6 - Paco Bautista

Can Troy Alves win this contest again, after no one beleived in him?  Or will pre-contest Hidetada, who is holding water and smoothing out, come back to place in the top and win.  Or will Paco Bautista, who looks like the crowd favorite, but didnt get the first callout, move up in the placing?

Yes, Troy will win.  Hide is burned out clearly and while Johnny looks good, he's not better than Troy

Yeah. But if his condition and size are extremely better than another top guys, is it impossible to compensate his bad structure?

I take what I said back about Brandon Curry a couple months ago.  This guy's shape is incredible.  He needs a Hany Ramrod, Chris Aceto or George Farah to get him in shape.  He could really be awesome

He's looking wider than most guys on stage from the rear. But he needs to work on his legs from the rear, in my opinion.

You are correct.  I like his shape better than Phil Heath's.  If he gets his conditioning down, he could be something special.

that's brandon next to hide?  i thought he was about my height 5'10".  that makes him shorter than heath.  too small like hide to challenge heath, vic or kia but can have  a good career.

I'm not too impressed with Curry. Conditioning is average at best, no legs, no overall thickness. "Nice" physique, but nothing special.

When I saw him last year at the USAs I was really impressed with his width for a guy his height.  Has the width of a bodybuilder 5'10.  I don't know what he weighs but like affman said, he needs more back thickness, leg and calf size and come in condition.  He has the ability to be better than Heath.

Curry takes off two years and that's all he can bring to the stage?  All that hype and still no legs, no calves and same shitty conditioning he always competes in.  He won't even finish top 3 in this third tier show.

Dude definitely played the game well though, milked AMI and BSN for two years.

BSN seems to have a knack for overhyped morons who never deliver lol.

Seriously, from all the hype you would have thought this guy was the second coming of Lee Haney and he's not even going to qualify for the Olympia in this shit show after 2 fucking years of supposedly hard training. What a joke.

What a shame; Those calves and hamstrings don't belong on a pro stage.

Hide has a wide waist from the rear. Ed has a awesome structure, waist looks smaller than Hide's. JOJ looks good. Troy looks over depleted, flat. Brandon looks okay, but a huge disappointment, I thought hexwaspus gonna bring some Phil Heath freakiness, his structure is better than Heath's , but his conditioning and legs are not. He needs to just stay under the squat rack.

That Greek dude with the K name, he has grat detail, but a very, very shitty structure, he looks more cobbled together than Paco. And Paco, great limbs, just wasn't blessed with a great structure.

Hopefully he will read said comments and bring it...two yrs from now...

Maybe if BSN sees that they have nothing but "hype" competitors they will either demand them to peak or lose their contracts. Maybe they should have a clause in the contract that states that they will always "try" to come in shape and in top form. Forcing the competitors to not be so contempt with being a also ran.
