I don't know.  But I've known lots of guys lately i.e. the past few years that have had complications from steroid use or health problems directly from their use and have died.  Kidney failure being a big one.  Lots of heart attacks lately too.

I think many gymrats are using way too much and also eating very shitty.  Many guys that don't even fucking compete are using grams of test, never coming off, constantly eating like shit to bulk up.  They never give their bodies a break.  I really dont feel to sorry for many of them.  They chaulk it up to the "lifestyle".  Arrogant and cocky and they die of a fucking heart attack in their sleep.  So much for the "lifestyle".  It's fucking stupid.  There are a few guys on here like that and on just about every board.  One thing is your body can take the abuse well into your 30s..........but most of these guys have died or had serious problems once they hit 40s and 50s.  The body just says enough.  I don't know.......I just think a lot of steroid users aren't healthy and it's not because they use steroids per se.....it's all the other shit and the high doses and never coming off.

Not harmful if taken sensibly and under a 'qualified physician's' care.

Back in them olden days when roids were legal and relatively unknown, the local docs who trained with the gym regulars would come to us and ask US about the use of roids and the eventual results of that usage. Those were the days when most users kept that usage to a minimum and the docs had to refer to the PDR to talk about the subject sensibly with the gym-rats.

And the docs admitted back then that anabolics were not even discussed during their medical ed-u-ma-ca-tion because the AMA declared that they 'did not work' to enhance physical performance or increase muscle mass. In fact the AMA was adamant in declaring their ineffectiveness.

In fact one doctor fought us constantly about roid usage claiming that any results were due to the placebo affect.

But then about five years later he wrote a book about vitamins and roids and in the preface of that book he made a 'public apology' to me and one other athlete (whom your all know) for doubting us about the benefits of anabolics.

Over the years athletes and bodybuilders came to the conclusion that "Less was shit and that more was better!" and adverse roid usage became a common practice.

This 'adverse usage' proved to be extremely successful and beneficial among athletes and their athletic endeavors, so those who were not privy to anabolic information found themselves bring 'picked last' in various sporting activities and often failed to make the team.

One such failure occurred at Annapolis during the pre-football season when one 'natural contenda' failed to make the team.

When asked by his dad (who just so happened to be some political politician such as a US Senator or US Congressman), "Why didn't you make the team, my son?", the son responded somewhat as follows ....

"Because I wasn't taking steroids like all those other guys!"

ANd that was just enough of a complaint to get the anti-steroid campaign on its way and become an eventual  felony under the eyes of the law even though the AMA objected, while everyone else just sat back and watched it happen.

And the IOC was a major part of this anti steroid campaign. (But that's a much larger story)

So over the years guys who didn't belong in jail got jail time and the continual sale of anabolics went underground and made lots of "criminals' very wealthy.

But even today anabolics sometimes disappear from evidence lockers and yada, yada, yada.

Much more to say, but GetBiggers tend to fall asleep when too many words are posted, so I'll end this here and add more later if anyone is really interested.

As long as you counteract the steroids with a good multivitamin you're good to go.

All of life is a matter of degrees. Hell, a person died last year from drinking too much water. NOTHING in life is 100% safe.

There was a reason steroids were developed. It helped with wasting and burn victims. It keeps the homos with AIDS alive.
Stallone would not be in nearly the shape he is in without hormones and HGH. Randy Culture would not still be fighting without short acting steroids and tons of HGH. Used judiciously they are good for you. They enhance protein synthesis which aids body repair. But abused them then just like anything, aspirin/advil, and you'll have problems. I've been on HRT (a weekly shot of test) for about 10 years and my bad cholesterol is actually lower and my blood work perfect. I don't think I'd be able to maintain my body composition if my test was on the level of a 10 year old boy no matter how I trained or dieted. And I'm having pizza for breakfast right now. And as I rapidly approach the half century mark I still think I can more than hold my own against people half my age.

I don't think Steroids are toxic to the kidneys per say, but if you bulk up to 300 lbs the high blood pressure that comes with it is certainly detrimental to the kidneys. I think most of kidney problems that affected many of the pros came as a result of diuretic use and abuse. It's common knowledge that diurectics nuke the kidneys.

Pellius, I don't know if you are aware of this but you live in the state where anabolics were originally test en'ass when burn victims arrived at Tripler Army Hospital from various WWII island campaigns.

To the best of my knowledge those burn cases at Tripler were the first significant 'anabolic steroid testing grounds' and it all occurred in your 'back yard' so to speak.

No, I didn't know this. Tripler doesn't seem to have that good of a rep here and is often referred to as "Crippler."

Yes they are generally bad for people but that doesn't really matter.

HgH is probably among the worst in regards of messing up organs, though. It'll probably take a few thousand heart attacks in younger people before anyone really cuts their dose a bit.

"Generally bad for people."

We do know that your body need HGH and testosterone to survive. So doesn't that tell you that it's a matter of how much. If a person over 40 is on TRT and brings his testosterone level back up to normal or high normal is that bad for him? If a person over 40 takes 2IU of HGH a day bringing his levels back up to when he was younger is that bad?

Compare Robby Robinson or Sylvester Stallone to the average 64-65 year old. Neither of these guys would be in the kind of shape they are in without steroids or HGH. And they've been juicing for decades. Of course, some will say that what you see on the outside doesn't reflect what's rotting away on the inside. Um, OK. Whatever. I watch Sly go through a workout that only a fraction of one percent of the population his age could endure and I'm going to believe his organ are shot. But not the vast majority of people who are overweight people of any age that also smoke and drinks.

Also, it's not about just how long you live but how you live long.

I think the problem would probably be using fake steroids bought in the gym bathroom

that might be unhealthy
