In Golds New Bedford, MA. A shitty, forgotten town full of losers and misfits, and remnants of an illustrious past.
Monday, early evening. I enter Golds through the cardio room. It's bright and disorienting and there's Lady Gaga dance remix blaring. People are moving at exaggerated speeds, huffing and puffing.
First Getbigger I see is True Adonis. The dieted version. Wearing spandex tank top and blond, matted hair pushed over his eyes. Ripped! All "McDonalds and Oreos".
Enter the weight room. Too crowded to move. A complete circus. JohnnyNoName is doing dumbell curls and preening in the mirror making kissy faces. Epic manicured hair, spandex top, tight gym pants. Nice "GH skin", too. Girlfriend mentions he looks like a gay stripper. I agree and tell her his name is JNN.
Next dude I see is the Iron Sheik. Like, might be the actual guy. This guy kinda follows me around at times, probably because I'm bald or he's very gay. One or the other. Anyway, Iron Sheik MUST be a Getbigger, so I include him here.
Also of note is jehwit. Gray handlebar mustache, skinny lean and constantly stretching and checking out the roided Getbiggers (Groink, who is today doing skullcrushers) and half rubbing his crotch. Never seen jehwit do a set of anything in the gym, but he's always there.
G-Thang was there, too. He's always hitting on this blond dyed Portuguese girl with a phat ass. Occasionally he does a set but mostly walks next to her on the treadmill.
Saw baby Micheal Locket. Stupid genetics, probably natural, probably sub 90 IQ. All Twizzlers.
Some older Permabulker, might be pumpster? Gray sweats from 1980's, weight belt smooshing in his 64" waist, constantly tightening the weighbelt. Never doing any sets.
Lot's of you guys at my gym on Mondays for "chest day".

It really was a romper room. I forgot to mention the "young" Andy Haman, same hair, more skinny and twinkish. Doing shoulder presses going "whooooo YAHHHH" on every rep. That kid was fun.
I didn't see tbombz but he goes to my gym, too.

Meh, it gets a bad rap. In some ways deservedly, but mostly because of the ethnic areas. Near the hospital and downtown historic area are actually quite nice.
