Good day bros sitting in a hotel computer station, just wanted to say: California is awesome, Texas Sucks Dick.

Is San Diego really the best? Why? Is it better than SF? If you could have the same job in either location which would you choose? I have only been to SD a few times. The one thing I really like about it is its proximity to Mexico. 8)
Are there more muscle men in SD? ;D

Born and raised in San Diego. Nothing like it. Weather is amazing. True Friends there. Brother and nephews there. Kick ass mexican food. San Diego is my first choice above NYC, lived there too.

Well you can't get a blowjob by 80% of the men in the gym shower room in San Diego like you can in San Francisco but the weather is certainly nicer.

In SF you can have a parade with nudity and have a police escort whether there is kids there or not, try that in SD and you go to jail.
A Mexican committs a robery or murder and flee to SF, they get protection "sanctuary city", do that in SD you go to jail and get your ass kicked in the process. See the difference?
-
Wanna bed? ;)
With all due respect, I wouldn't hold your breath on me ever joining your "down low pm list" 8)
You seem like a stand up guy and I enjoy your witty and engaging posts but I have a preference for consentual, straight sexual activity with women.

You need to specify “xx” when denoting women. I just don’t know about getbig after the last couple of days with the likes of vince and vissy and some others. :-\

Compared to what it use to be and compared to what it ought to be California has really gone down the tubes. It should be the world's promise land. There something there for everybody. Beach, mountains, snow, surf... idea climate. Really, I just don't know where to start.
-
Wanna bet? ;)
Bay is right. San Diego is full of homos. It has the second largest gay parade behind SF. Also has the second largest designated gay area behind SF.
I love San Diego. My home town. This city has it all but great restaurants. Too many food chains. Not sure why there needs to be a subway every 1/4 mile.

Yea but the mexican food places kick ass. One chain missing in San Diego, DUNKIN DONUTS, I don't do Starbucks so I settle for 7-11 coffee.
Georges on the cove still in my top 3 in San Diego

Have to agree, donut shops here suck pure asshole and they are hard to find. The only decent one is VG's donuts in Solana. That place is delicious but a pain to get to.
Yes, there is great mexican for sure. Tacos El Gordo in Chula Vista is amazing. Italian Food here sucks and chinese is so-so.
They only finally got around to opening a Sonic and a Bob's Big Boy.

I grew up (31 years) in Hawthorne (home of the Beach Boys) and Manhattan Beach. For things to do within a 2.5 hour drive there is no place better to live than LA. From ocean sports to mountain sports, amusement parks, forests, Mexico, restaurants, museums and cultural diversity LA tops them all. Of course their is alot of shit that comes with it but I lived there for 30+ year and never encountered the real bad stuff. But, I have done literally everything you can do there and I wasn't looking to move cause I had a very good career taking off and lived good but then I went to Hawaii. If you are to live in LA I would suggest living in one of the oceanfront communities.
I have traveled quite a bit. I spent 3 months in Florida around 1987. About a month in Ft. Meyers and about 2 months in Ft. Lauderdale. I had a beautiful suite at the Days Inn in Lauderdale the whole time. I had so much fun there and just love Florida. I used to say the only place I would rather live than LA was Florida. Till I came to Hawaii in Jan. or Feb. of 1989. The Special Olympics brought me over and put me up at the Hilton Hawaiian Village and after just the first day I wanted to move there. I met with the biggest agent in Hawaii and she said if I ever come back I could work easy there. So I decided to move there and on Aug. 3 1989 I moved to Hawaii. Everyday in Hawaii was a vacation to me. I have never lived more than 5 or 10 minutes from the beach. Then in 2007 decided to move to Vegas and still here. I am looking to go back to Hawaii in Dec. or Jan. and spend the winter and spring there and live in Vegas for the Summer and Fall.

That was a while back when the bbb was on Mira Mesa. When did you leave SD? Why? Let me guess for a man. the major problem is that they are just building homes and condos here like retards but the infrastructure just can't handle it. Traffic gets worst daily and there are just too many damn people. I remember just a few years ago I could go to Torrey Pines beach on a saturday and it would be 1/2 packed, now it is packed to the tits all the time during the summer. Annoying. The Orange County snobby attitude has leaked it's way down here. Too many assholes and bitches in their Range Rovers and Benzes acting all snobby and shit and bitching all the time. The surfer vibe is deader than dead. The fact that you can't even go to a beach anymore and have a beer is bullshit because the fucking billionaires that own their $50 million beach front estate paid off the congress folk to enact the law.
This city is getting too restrictive.
-
An added note: i have not been to LA since 1998
-
Might as well just go to Mexico, same thing anyways, just a lot more expensive. ;D

Saying "Chulajuans" confirms that Newmom is a true SD local. Come back home, we all miss you. Starting to open up some IN-N-Out's in recent years around here, if you ever get tired of Mexican food for awhile, try those.
BayGay might have missed the fact that a huge Navy base and S.E.A.L. training center is in SD. Also another part of his version of paradise would be the Marine base up the 5. All those fresh young military men and I would guess BG likes rough trade. San Fran is the butt hole (no pun intended) of California, so maybe BG should stay in his own personal hog heaven.
Please do not call California cali. Really uncool. Usually said by some want-to-be trying to be cool. San Diego (up to north county..cutoff line is Temecula) is called SoCal by the locals.
SD is truly a great place to growing up and live in. And there is every type of hot Asian women in the world around here. In fact most SoCal women, of any culture and age, are hot in SD.
Surfers usually go up the coast, beyond Pendleton. Government owns too much of the better beaches along that stretch of coast. M-of-S is correct, too many rich think they own the beaches. Really is public land but you would never know it. Money talks, BS walks..old saying but still true. Great surfing in Baja, about 70-100 miles down, id you want to be alone. Just keep an eye open for the not so friendly Mexican's. Lot of story's about guns, robbery and rape that the US never hears about. We have been know to take bows along.. Even slingshots. Good idea to have some form of leverage on your side.

The one thing about San Diego that amazes me the most is that with the real good authentic mexican quisine that places like Taco Bell and Chipotle thrive. You can pass by any around lunch and they'll have a line around the block waiting.
People here rant about how good chipotle is, but you know that they aren't san diegans, but probably east coasters who can't really handle real flavor or heat.
As newmom says. Carne Asada fries rock. The best protein breakfast, is a burrito with eggs, carne asada and quac.

The California economy would beg to differ.

Haha mon of steele, the man was my dad. For once I won't bore the board with "things". Moved in 91. Go back at least once a year. Just there in feb.
Jpm I got nicknames for certain parts..mira mesa aka manilla mesa aka the mecca, no offense to the flips.
Good ole seal training on the strand between imperial beach and coronado. Pops was stationed at north island for years.
Jpm I can never get sick of mexican food but I always go to in and out when im there and jack in the crack.
Aww good memories of my lowered vw bug ditching high school and hitting the surf in del mar or torrey. Yea me go to class in the winter when its 70 something degrees, fuck outta here

why CA > TX?
I live in hermosa beach CA and its pretty awesome, moved from Boston 18 years ago.
I found san diego girls more uptight but was only there briefly. Closer to hollywood attitude than the south bay of los angeles.

Kind of ignorant of the mom thinking the young black man would be safer in LA than in Philly. Maybe she never watched Boyz in the Hood or any other LA gang movie.
-
Oh yea jpm, back when going to tijuana was safe well safer then today. Loved driving to ensenada and pounding beers and lobster. Is pappas and beer still down there. I think another place was called hussons or some shit like that. After tj, the drive there was pretty.
Mon can you overnight 3 carne asada burritos, thanks lol

Every day of my life I punch myself in the nuts for not living in Hawaii. To this day, i haven't seen a better place. Can't make it back til 2012....or can I?

When Newmom said she had nicknames for certain part that really drew my interest...buzz buster when she meant towns. Yes famous Revolution Ave, when it all begins but may not end there. Have not crossed at TJ for quite a while. Cross at Otay Mesa for a lot of reasons. BB'ers will cross their for BB'ing related stuff. Sometimes 3 times a week.
SD girls are not uptight unless you have a Boston accent or east coast attitude. Surf and beach girls are totally cool.
Ensenada was outstanding. Lot more army troops hanging around there than before though. Those home lobster dinners are something else, from the ocean to your plate in a matter of an hour or less. The local winery's are world class. Still have to watch your back somewhat. Surfing beyond there can be exceptional. Couple of Aussie guy's I took down there were impressed.
Husson's is first choice. Get drunk and listen to Mexican music all night.
SD also has some of the baddest wilderness areas in the US. Not much further than east of the 15 or off the 8. Desert, mountains or whatever. Dirt biking, buggies, etc. You can start off the day by surfing, than desert dirt biking and end up mountain hiking. And than wind up camping over night.

It's not all beach and surf. It is the most expensive State to live in. And it's a bit backward. There are just little annoying things that you take for granted on the mainland. Getting an oil change is an all day affair. In Cali, they got the Jiffy Lube, Easy Lube... and you're in and out in fifteen minutes. I hate that when I pump gas they don't have that little clip that holds the handle down so you can wash your windows while filling your tank. It's common in grocery stores not to have some items that you want. Like I've been waiting for two weeks now for Safeway (one of the major grocery stores here) for them to get liquid egg whites. I can go on, on. It's not a huge issue but just minor annoyances that make you think Hawaii is a little backwards. Also, the overt racism against Whites is palatable. At least in the more rural areas (which are the nice scenic places that lets you know you're on an island and not in the city which is just like LA, traffic and all). It's always "fucking haole this/fucking haole that".
Still, it's always nice to walk outside my door and see and breath the ocean air. Nothing beats sucking in that fresh ocean air.
-
Personally, i'll take the east coast over the west coast anyday.

pellis - how much pot do you grow on your property? ;D

Hey guys,
I'm from Denmark and I'm moving to San Diego the 18th of August to attend SDSU - so since it sounds like there's a lot of guys from that area here - can you recommend a good place to live in SD when going to SDSU? I've been recommended Pacific beach - but it's expensive and far away from SDSU.. Any other recommendations?
Also - good places to train in SD? I like hardcore places with lots of freeweights without too much bullshit, not those big commercials gym where you get lost in the machinepark.
Hope you can help :)
/Morten.
-
Goodness why
Through personal experience I find more weirdos on the west side. Ecen here in Canada. The west coast here is full of quck jobs. At least the east coast is more rugged and more tough.
-
Essensen: Can you play American football or basketball? SDSU is in need this year.
You will probably wind up at the student union building where there are list of places to rent, on or off campus. People in SD are friendly and lay backed, so ask around about places to live. Though things aren't cheap. Probably know that SD is the second largest city in California.
PB is a great place if your well off. There is a trolley station on campus which takes you downtown (Gas Lamp for example..great spot), beach, sports events, etc. Try the campus athletic dept training center. Well stocked equipment because the athletes workout there. Some exceptional women athletes also. Other than that, not familiar with too many hardcore gyms around SDSU. Have heard of a few but never checked them out my self. Others on GetBig can help your better. I'm more into the North County SD area.
-
East coast more rugged and tough? I know quite a few guy's out here in SoCal that would debate you those points.

by the sound of your post, I have a feeling you will fall in love with the Hillcrest area. A lot of your kind there. And for gyms, any FROG's gym will have what your looking for in terms of male companionship. Faggoty steam baths and shit like that. Good Luck

I am going to visit LA in Sept and will be meeting the coach. I will also be looking at several properties while I am out there and if I like it I will move out there soon!
