Finally I can get rid of damn old car I've been driving for 8 years now!!
I was susposed to go to emmisions in February, but ever since then my car kept failing the test. I kept bringing it to my mechanic but he could never fix it, and he kept charging me tons of money. The repairs were costing me more than the car was worth!
To make it worse, my registration expires today and dmv wont renew my registartion because of the failed emmisons tests.
So I went to Nissan and decided to lease the 2010 Nissan Sentra. I pick it up tommorow.
I've never leased a car before
What are some things I should do during my lease?
Also, should I get seat covers for the seats? I want to keep this car perfect...I dont want to spill anything on the seats.
Should I get a steering wheel cover?
How long can I keep the new car smell in it?
Tommorow will be a good day.

Holy Shit this brings back memories. I even wrote a treatment for a TV show I called Rental Car. Back when I traveled I figured I averaged 3 months a years in a rental car. I had a friend who managed the National Rental Car place in LA and everytime I went to LA I got VIP treatment there. He was a nut and the things I did to rent a cars is unreal. I totaled one in Florida when I had Alamo as a sponsor. I was late for a radio interview at Diamond Dallas Page's nightclub called Norma Jeans in Ft. Meyers. I came hauling up the driveway to my hotel and rammed into the side of a van that pulled in front of me. I got a car stuck in a lava hole in Kona and they had to come tow it out. My friend one time needed some tires for his moms car so we traded tires. Way back then I did some unreal shit. My friend and me woudl go 100 mph and pull the emergency brake and put down this long skid mark and do it at 3 in the morning in a residential neighborhood. Lights would go on and people come out. We would pull over and watch them. I wrote a really funny script for all the shit that happens with rent a cars.

DOnt eat in the new car. Yes get protection for the insides. Why on earth you leased is beyond me. I thought you kept your cars. Any little ding or scratch you will get charged when you turn it in

If it's a lease you need to keep that puppy as clean as you can b/c when you return it...they'll nit pick it down to a small hairline crack in the dashboard.
I'd like to know your reason for leasing? Do you plan on always upgrading to a newer model every 2-3 years (that can be a benefit) My aunt always leases her Mercedes to newer models for the exact same payment every few years.
There are a lot of drawbacks with lease though..mainly the mileage issue (you'll be paying for anything over the agreed amount)...this is why my aunt bought a used car to keep around actually.

K-1 I agree. I would never lease a car. I keep them running till I run into the ground, except my last civic, still running after 12 years but just bought a 2010 accord.
Once a car is paid off, just keep up with maint. and it will run for years after

Nice! I got a 2000 civic right now about to be 11 still running strong. Wife has an accord.
I'm going to try to get me a truck this weekend myself (Titan LE), but I'm keeping my honda regardless. My only problem is I don't know where I"m going to park it. lol Only have garage and driveway where I stay (townhouse) I'll have to snatch a visitor sport or something.
