Title: Lactic acid buffer?
Post by: Princess L on August 01, 2010, 08:47:06 PM
Does anyone know what I could take to prevent lactic acid from building up?

I bike (hybrid on trails)  frequently and my legs just ache/burn almost the entire time and it's not strenuous type riding - avg 10-15 mph, mostly flat for 10-25 miles at a time.

doesn't bi-carb help with this?   explosive gas though  :-X

i think a better alternative is hydration (no kidding)... 1 hour pre-exercise drink 1-2 liters of water (1/4 - 1/2 gallon), you'll have time to urinate before working out but then you body will still have supplementary fluid to help clear the lactic acid...

alternatively I could come and massage your legs...   ;D
