Title: Muscle Repair Question
Post by: Eyeball Chambers on August 02, 2010, 06:23:54 PM
tbombz posted a link to a video where Dorian Yates equated muscle growth to rubbing your hands raw with sand paper, and growing calluses that become thicker and thicker as the skin is reopened each time and then heals again and again with a thicker layer of skin.

Wouldn't that mean that the biggest factor in building muscle mass would be recovery time (and nutrition) between workouts?  Seems like the easy part is going to the gym and tearing your muscles to pieces, shouldn't it take longer than a week for your body to fully recover from a workout?

 ???

i dont think that is true because callous is dead skin whereas muscle you build in the gym isnt dead
i also heard from a guy that you dont build new muscle its just that your existing muscle gets bigger

In the old days they often trained full body 3 times a week.

"Harry," I explained to him. "You oughta do some power training and bulk up."
"What for? He asked. "The girls think I'm terrific already."
"Terrific?" I said. "You're weak as a kitten."
"Yeah," he said. "But the girls don't know that."
"Girls?" I shouted. "You got nothing on your mind but girls?" I tapped him on the chest. "Get this! Suppose you're walking home with a girl tonight. And suppose some big lug steps out of an alley and drags her away. What do you do then?"
"Easy," he said. "I slip down to the beach tomorrow and get another one."

one day on, one off

1.chest

2.back/shoulders

3.legs

4.arms

takes 8 days to complete, no two day breaks, no overtraining problems (at least for me)
