City police blast bodybuilder who claimed he was wounded cop.
In an emotional Internet video made to market a nutrition company, local bodybuilder George Farah spoke of the pain and rehabilitation he went through when he was shot in Rochester while a rookie police officer in 1997. He was off duty, he tells viewers, heroically responding to a bank robbery.
The problem is, it isn’t true. ;D
http://www.democratandchronicle.com/article/20100805/NEWS01/100805025/1002/NEWS
Farah, a professional bodybuilder from Rochester ironically nicknamed “Bulletproof,” was shot on Ringle Street in Rochester in 1997 along with another person, but was never an officer or employee of the police department, the city officers’ union president said Thursday.
The circumstances of the shooting are cloudy and no one was ever charged in the incident, said Locust Club President Mike Mazzeo. Now he and members of his union are insulted and angered that Farah and Illinois-based Optimum Nutrition used the false story to market their products.
“We have three role models in this community and their story of how they have overcome adversity is a testament of inner strength — not deceit,” Mazzeo said at a news conference standing beside officers Anthony DiPonzio, Dan Brochu and Luca Martini, who were all shot in the line of duty. DiPonzio, 24, of Greece was shot in the back of the head with a round fired from a .22-caliber rifle on Jan. 31, 2009, after he and other officers were leaving Dayton Street, where they had responded to a complaint of drug activity. Fellow officers rushed him to Rochester General Hospital, where he underwent emergency surgery.
On Dec. 1, Brochu and Martini responded to a 911 call about a home invasion at 265 Driving Park Ave. When Brochu and Martini arrived, they heard a woman screaming. She then ran out of the third-floor apartment and the two officers were met by gunfire.
Brochu, a six-year member of the police department, was struck once in the right lower leg. The bullet went through Brochu’s leg and broke some bones. Martini, a three-year officer, was shot in the right arm, left hand and upper chest. The bullet that hit his chest lodged in his bulletproof vest and did not pierce through. The bullets that struck his right arm and left hand caused several broken bones. None of the men has returned to duty.
“Real police officers, if you get injured in the line of duty, make every effort to come back to work and continue your career as a police officer,” Brochu said. “The three of us go to multiple doctors appointments every week, we are going to physical therapy on a regular basis, and we’re all striving to come back.”
“For a child to look at someone like him and consider him a role model, I’m totally offended,” said Brochu, who coaches youth sports. Monroe County First Assistant District Attorney Sandra Doorley said Farah likely would not face criminal charges for his false story on the video.
“The only problem is at the beginning of the video, he doesn’t orientate to a particular date or location or the Rochester police department, so based upon what we have alone here, it wouldn’t be enough for criminal charges,” Doorley said. However, she asked anyone who feels they might have otherwise been defrauded or victimized by Farah to call the District Attorney’s office at (585) 753-4780.
Farah, a longtime personal trainer at Rockell’s Family Fitness Center on West Ridge Road, now runs a fitness center in Webster, according to an employee there. Farah could not be reached for comment today.
Optimum Nutrition has since removed the video from its web site, apologized to the union and said it would take action against Farah. “… I wanted, as George’s boss, to let you know how sorry we are to have posted his fabrication,” Bob Corbett, athlete manager for the company wrote Mazzeo in an e-mail. “I’m sorry of any pain it caused your police force and veterans.”

the guy is a liar, I have heard an interview he gave a while back in Heavy muscle radio and he said that he was a trainee police officer at the time, off duty and he went to a local shop to buy sth, by chance some thugs were outside and etc.
The story that he said at the On site was completely different, that he was an on duty police officer and all that kind of krap.
I mean what a duchebag ???

According to his website he is 5'6". What is the height requirement for being a police officer? I don't think I've ever seen one that short. :-\
btw, who is his audience? Does he have fans? I can't believe BB fans are paying any real attention to him. ::)
-
was this before or after the ninja encounter?
So that's why optimum nutrition deleted the video from their youtube account a little while ago.

All sociopaths are liars. And all pathological liars are sociopaths. They all also think they are the smartest person in the room at any given time. Derek Anthony is a prime example of a sociopath. As was Craig Titus.
-
i read in an old muscle mag interview that he said he was shot while he was being robbed. he carried large sums of money because he was a jewlry dealer. he shot one of the guys that shot him..i think the kid was 14 or 15. it was an interested interview

Is Kamali still waiting on that puma deal to be ironed out? or was that fabricated by someone else?

I heard George was shot during a drug deal gone bad.
George was in the drug business and was shot one night.
He was a criminal... Thats why he feels the need to lie about it. Sounds like he has told many versions of the story, all of which are lies. He's trying to hide the fact that he was a drug dealer that brought the shooting on himself.

both questions answered.
But "lying" and "lying" are different things if it involves lying about your drug abuse, ninjas oder shootings.

They tend to have Napoleon Complexes to match...shoot first or call for back up whilethey stomped them...then try to file charges for "assault on a police officer".

hahaha that's hilarious. He was a drug dealer but claims he was a heroic cop who got shot while trying to help people in a bank robbery. ;D
I'd say that guy is done as far as contest preps go. I wouldn't hire anyone knowing he has no problem lying bold into peoples faces.
-
Everyone in Ra Cha Cha knows that George was running a bathtub steroid operation. He was selling all his homemade brew to the kids and guess what? They shot him. Bottom line, he's a drug dealer that got shot-period

That's seems to be Farah's tactic. Taking credit for things where no credit is due. Romano wrote an article about "some contestprep guru" (obiously George Farah).
More Carbs + Less Cardio = Fat Ass! Unless. . . PDF Print E-mail
Written by John Romano
Friday, 23 April 2010 00:37
I was sitting near the front row at the XYZ Pro Show and I couldn't help but hear the familiar rant of a popular so-called "diet guru" behind me yelling in his unmistakable accent. "Oh, yes, he look very good! Very ripped... What his name?"
Some photographer answered his question and supplied the name. Next, this guru starts yelling out the guy's name- a competitor he doesn't even know - and begins instructing him from the crowd as if it's HIS client! "Yes!! That it... blow out!! Oh yes, you look great!.... Squeeze the legs... Yes, that it!!"
During a post-contest interview backstage, after the darkhorse competitor won the contest, the interviewer asks, "Who helped you prepare for this show?" The winner replied, "I did my own contest prep!"
This didn't stop the boisterous guru from picking up a few new clients in the audience, however. To the unsuspecting athlete sitting in the audience, it appeared as though this said guru prepped the winner. I mean, he was yelling posing instructions and cheering him on, wasn't he?
Back in the host hotel, the slick guru is holding court with his new charge. "You do how much cardio?" he asks.
"2 hours a day. It's the only way I can get shredded glutes."
Oh no, you do much less cardio with me", says the guru. "You eat lots of carb too. Only way to keep muscle! You like?"
Of course the bodybuilder likes carbs! Unfortunately they don't like him and he tells the guru.
"Oh no," says the guru. "You no worry. I take good care of you. You eat lots of carb and you do less cardio and I get you ripped! You have colitis? No problem, I take good care.... I no give cookie cutter diet. All individual... I work with you. You win show like all my client win show."
Well, that sounds good. All his clients win shows! That must mean I'm going to win too! Or so the aspiring bodybuilder thinks. And he goes off stuffing his face with rice and potatoes, all the while only doing 20 minutes of cardio a day. And guess what happens? At six weeks out from the show, the bodybuilder looks like he swallowed a Volkswagen. "Ah, you no worry," says the guru. "I take good care of you. You take these pills, two in the morning and two at night. You see, you get ripped."
And the desperate bodybuilder takes hold of the plastic baggie half-full of bright yellow capsules that are unidentifiable to him. "What are they?" he asks.
"Oh, you no worry... I take good care of you! You have heart problem? You no worry. I no give cookie cutter diet. I take good care of you. You listen to me. You win show. You no listen, I not so sure you win."
But the bodybuilder wants to know what the pills are. "You no worry... I not give you anything bad. This secret. You want everybody to know? You take pills, no worry."
So, what does our behind-schedule, fat ass, over crabbed, bodybuilder do? That's right he takes the pills! And what are they? Well, DNP of course! DNP? This guy is giving his unsuspecting client DNP? Why not just make him do more cardio and eat less carbs? There's no glamour in that, is there? So, the jovial, full-of-shit, guru forces his clients to take a confirmed poison to lose the fat they can't lose because he's a self-serving guru, and he insists that his charges eat carbs and do almost no cardio!
Now, I'm the last guy to put down DNP. It certainly does work. But, you have to be careful. There is a DNP_2,4_Dinitrophenol_musle-manlethal dose for DNP and it's very close to the effective dose. It saps your energy by diverting potential ATP into heat so you feel drained when you take it. There is also evidence that it's hard on the kidneys. It can cook your insides. The shit can kill you! And the only reason this guru is going to suggest that his clients take it is because he thinks it's better to eat more carbs and do less cardio? Says who, a self-serving magazine owner waving a study? I distinctly remember Dan Duchaine telling me that DNP would eventually be abused by so-called diet gurus who couldn't get their charges in shape. He said that DNP would become the magic pill of the contest prep trade. It would make idiots into saviors; the unscrupulous, unflappable; the ill-prepared, polished. And he was right.
The really sad thing is that this guru I'm talking about is for real. He actually does manipulate the audience around him into thinking that the most in-shape competitors are his, even if he didn't train the guy or girl. He's louder than he has to be so that we can all hear that whoever is winning is his guy (even if it isn't). He even yells pointers from the crowd, just like a real coach would! This is all done to sell the poor, wide-eyed, guy who might be in attendance looking for an answer. An answer than includes being told he can eat carbs and do less cardio - just what he wants to hear! I know former clients of this guy, so I know what he does. All I can say is that there are better, safer, and more ethical ways to get a competitor on stage. And the "cookie cutter diet?" That's his mantra, "I no give you cookie cutter diet." I have news for you; all diets are cookie cutter and they are all free online. You don't pay a diet coach for a diet, you pay him to "coach" you to the stage. You pay for his eye and his judgment and his ability to see the end-result well before you step on stage. You pay for his experience. You pay for the peace of mind in knowing the guy advising you has done this before and has had great success. And, most importantly, you pay for the safety built into his protocol.
No one is averse to taking a pill in this biz and this guru dispenses the magic one. So what if it can kill you? So what if he's full of shit? All that matters is that you pay him and, on contest day, you look ready. Can this approach win shows? Of course it can. Is it the best way to go about it? I'd rather suffer on the stair climber and eat no carbs. If I'm doing all that and I'm still off-schedule, then yeah, I'll take the pill. I'll do it knowing full- well what it is and the proper precautions. But I won't take it unless I really need it. The truth is, if I'm doing everything right. I won't need it - neither will you. And trust me when I tell you, no one needs this bloated loud-mouthed guru either.
The next time you're at a big show, listen carefully. You'll hear him. You'll catch his act. And you'll be smart to stay well clear of him. Even if you have colitis, allergies to gluten, heart trouble, or any other limiting ailment that poses a challenge to getting into shape. Someone out there is far better qualified to take care of you!

you can't really say that all pathological liars are sociopaths, as a fact, it may turn out to be that in some instances, but making a statement like that isn't true.
Also they do not always think they are the smartest person in the room, maybe low IQ sociopaths will believe this and have a superiority over all other people way of thinking, but higher IQ sociopaths recognize their limits and see potential equals and higher ups and can accept them and act accordingly.
-
who paid the medical bills ?

everyone in bodybuilding stretches the truth or out right lies
Overstatements like these are a form of lying, in my opinion. The fact is that it would be next to impossible for anyone person to know that "everyone" in bodybuilding lies or stretches the truth or does not. Maybe everyone they know in bodybuilding lies....but even saying that could be a stretch.
Having said the above, it is amazing that so many folks post their measurements, which when you look at their photos are hard to believe. I've seen stats posted for bodybuilders with fair sized guts who claim they have a 30" waist and 30" quads. Have they considered how odd this would actually look if it were true?
-
Dude lies like a bitch. >:(

Good point! As much as I hate liars, I must admit I've fabricated one or two in my lifetime. Usually though, I just avoid the subject if I cannot give an honest reply. This is know as lying by omission. It goes something like this:

-Husband, "Out."
-Wife, "Out where?"
-Husband, “Nowhere special, just out."
Wife then gives up asking questions with a sigh and the husband walks away and sighs in relief because he didn’t actually tell a lie….unless it was special!

The problem is, it isn’t true. ;D

According to his website he is 5'6". What is the height requirement for being a police officer? I don't think I've ever seen one that short. :-\
btw, who is his audience? Does he have fans? I can't believe BB fans are paying any real attention to him. ::)
King Kamali hated him
Chris Aceto said his Police career was fake and that he was a liar
Farah got upset and called him gay :D

Shoot, I didn't mean to bump this. I meant to quote snippets of this for the new George Farah documentary thread. I don't mean to shit on George - but this was obviously a fraud.
Just call him JustPlaneGeorge. ;D

that or hire franco colombu as your personal trainer. ;)
Apparently, that cost Stallone a pec tear. Franco got Stallone to attempt somewhere between 340-360 on bench press.
IMO, there was no reason to try a bench press one rep max like that, on a hypertrophy program.

Weird. I forgot which magazine but I believe in late 90s or early 2000s a bodybuilding magazine ran the story and said Farrah was a jeweler and was shot while robbed. Which even then meant drugs.

It was charged by another well know industry person, that George was a well known cook and source for trenbolone.
Past years he has preached low protein, low drugs and GH, lots of nuts and seeds, "think about life after bodybuilding." Then someone posts his diets for some professional bodybuilders and it's 400 grams of protein like everyone else. Of course he has to instruct his guys to use lots of GH and insulin, because otherwise they will not win. So the "health kick" is for whose benefit exactly? He talks like he advices his bodybuilders about this moderation. I just don't understand guys like
George, but maybe he makes all his money from "lifestyle clients" like all the coaches/trainers. Probably. To be fair, he told a pro I know that 8iu of good growth hormone is enough, but you know the top guys aren't satisfied with this.
