In an issue of MD, Kevin claimed to weigh 260 lbs at 5'4 during the offseason. As he prepared for the NY Pro 202 he looked ready to step on stage at 228-232 lbs. He went on to write that one week out from the contest he was still weighing 225. This forced him to cut his meals in half, increase cardio, and severly restrict his water intake. In the end he made weight by a single ounce.
Can Kevin English continue putting his body through this or should he just compete in the open at his highest possible weight?

he already did the open, before there was the 202
if he does it again its not like the result will be much different., he will get lost in the pack like all super short guys do
he might carry a little excitment with him for a while because he was the 202 champion., but in the end he will be a2nd or 3rd tier open guy

He needs to compete in the open. His body looks too bad to still be on the 202 class.

Nice "4 pack" and separated abs.
Why does this seem to be a more common trait?

my guess large quanties of food, gh and insulin along with getting to big in the offseason causes the abdominal wall to stretch..notice the large gap between his abs. just a guess

You forget that at the 2008 New York Pro, he not only won the 202 class there, he placed 2nd in the open to Kai Greene. I think he actually got more prize money than Greene did.
And, at the 2008 Olympia, he placed 2nd to David Henry at the 202 show and in the overall Olympia show, he placed 16th; Henry placed 15th.
I think that played a role in the rule that 202 guys can't compete in the open shows, along with the prize money thing. In fact, every time someone competes in multiple Olympia shows, they change the rules to prevent that from happening the next year.
