i checked it last night...it ws 150/90something...checked it this morning(upon waking)..high again...
....had never thought of checking it before but my girl has a cuff and so i figured i'd do it for shits n giggles...and i ws shocked...
1.3 yrs worth of sitting on my ass...eating junk....being stressed has caught up.....
i went out and bought me some L-carnitine and did some cardio today...which will now be done everyday....
i lasted 25 mins on the treadmill....15 mins walking and 15 jogging...
n oh...i quit smoking as of this morning ...not that i had a pack a day habit but no more ciggy on the drive home anymore

last i checked it ws around a yr ago and it ws around 140/70some....that i remember...i'll give it 3 weeks of daily cardio and no more pounding 5 redbulls a day on top of 3 or so glasses (not cups) of coffee to stay awake late night to study ...and i dont even like coffee...i'd just go to 7-11 and wait for it too cool and then chug a large glass of it....cant do that .....i cant be successful and work hard if i end up in the hospital :-\

no...its a digital cuff....pretty ijit proof...
although i do know how to take BP manually...
and if there WAS arithmetic involved least assured i wouldn't mention it on here least i confuse the likes of you....see...i'm always looking out :)

well thats been cut out as of last year.....i wish it ws that simple....my last 2 drinks were around 4 months ago at some wedding my girl took me to :-\ <wedding reception to be exact>
cardio....and not being so excessive with caffeine i hope will fix it

you really should get on blood pressure meds, having high blood pressure for a long time which you might have damages your body in the long run.

drop your carbs in half, and i guarentee within 3 days your blood pressure will be normal.

Mine was high when I was 220 pounds and a fatass.
At 175 pounds, it's awesome. I no longer get winded on steps.

remember that using a cuff that is too small will give an inaccurate reading. something as simple as comparing results when lean and in shape vs. off season can give big discrepancies if your arm measurements fluctuate.
you can really develop hypertension seemingly out of nowhere, for me it happened when I hit about 25. before that nothing ever made my bp high, weight gain, gear usage, or any other vices. then one day during an especially stressful period in my life, boom... 180/110 at the doctor's office. I have been on atenolol ever since, which I find helps me a lot as it has some effects on general anxiety levels as well, being a beta blocker. even though I live a much healthier lifestyle these days (dropped some mass, cut way back on drinking etc), I still require the meds to keep my bp in the normal range. typical reading for me these days is 130/85.
have a talk with your doc and see if it was a one time fluke, or something that you need to get under control. if caught early it really is not a big deal...good luck bro

I got it done a week ago the day before I had 2 job interviews. It was 170/100.
Stress, caffine ans salt are major factors!

quitting smoking was the best thing...that alone will drop it in a few days to a week. also like someone else wrote watch the caffiene and sodium. if the bottom number doesn't go down go to the doc. anything over 90 for prolonged periods can damage the kidneys

i've already told you the simplest solution. cut your carbs, you will drop water and your blood pressure will come down.

i have reduced caffeine...sigh...and for the next 2 weeks i'm teaching 10 hr classes straight...mon thru sun..and just 1 cup of tea in the morning is killing me...but i'm managing...
the salt...well...since i'm teaching a bootcamp class...for lunch i usually microwave a meal...so sodium is still pretty high since all microvable meals have high sodium

It has no effect on me at all. The first day or so was annoying though.

i am used to chugging 4 redbulls a day....you can even take them to the library and sneak them to the bathroom ...chug and be back read to study more...now i drink water...where is the thrill in that ? >:(

IOn the morning I had a massive mug of coffee. A pre workout supp with caffine. Then amybe 1-2 cups of coffee after work as well as lots and lots of coke etc.
Sprite Zero tastes great no difference from regular sprite. I am actually drinking decaf coffee as we speak lol Tastes nicer lol

I never said it kills you. I said it increases your blood pressure. Combine this iwth high salt and low exercise it will all have a cumulative effect.
Also I would say that millions all over the world have heart attacks each day.

caffeine is a beta adergenic agonist...so it should raise BP.....
i'm going thr better safe than sorry here mang cause i simply dont have the time to train like i'd like to now a days....
i can never be as big as u...but i could be bigger...but its just not possible right now for me to train....as much as i'd like to :(

i've known lots of juicers - blood pressure through the roof, nose bleeds during workouts etc.
i gave them the same advice - the halved their carbs - blood pressure was fine.
you can also drop calories - but carbs seem to be the real problem.
you don't need to drop sodium, or caffeine.
try it, trust me.

my friend...u have to consider that when u train you hold more glycogen...which miiiight lead to more fluid volume and which in turn might cause high BF...
i dont even train,,,i sit on my ass and study and watch myself get uglier by the day....point being...excessive carbs is not the mechanism causing me high BP...since i dont train my body to hold excessive carbs in the form of glycogen..

just saying.
it doesn't matter if you train or not - your body is holding 3-4g of water for every gram of glycogen your untrained body has stored - roughly 700g (depending on the study).
if you half your carbs you will be pissing like a race horse.

HIGH BP LEAD TO STROKE, AND MAY LEAD TO DEATH. TAKE CARE OF YOUR BLOOD PRESSURE, ANS HAVE A GOOD, AND HAPPY LIFE.
